Eminence Deltalite II 2512 Neo 12" Speaker Driver
Eminence Deltalite II 2512 Neo 12" Speaker Driver is rated 4.4167 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sounds great, Reduced WeightI purchased this speaker in December of 2013 to replace a speaker in a custom made bass cabinet. When I brought the box in the house I thought they had forgotten to pack the speaker in it. It was that light. I pulled the old and very used driver out of the cabinet after weighing it. After the install I weighed the cabinet again to find that the weight was reduced by around seventeen pounds, which is significant at my age.I reconfigured the ports based on how this driver matched up with my cabinets. Thanks to the specs provided it was easy to get that right with some speaker design software. The cabinet is driven by a GenzBenz Shuttle 6.1 amp. I use it with a fender jazz bass w/emg pickups, an upright bass with pickup, and an NS Designs NXT bass. It gets good reviews from band members and listeners with all those instruments. It seems to have a really accurate and quick response. I was presently surprised at the response at the upper and lower end of the spectrum. I thought about installing a tweeter, but I would only need it if I decided to do a lot of slapping/popping, which I don't.If it is a good match for your cabinet or if you can reconfigure your cabinet, I don't see how you could go wrong with this driver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic bass response!Th Eminence Deltalite II speaker was purchased to replace the original speaker in a SWR bass cab and it couldn't have been easier!! The sound is fantastic and no more buzz! This speaker fit perfectly and it took very little time to complete.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality speakerYou can tell by looking at this speaker that it is a quality product. Light as a feather but robust feeling as well. I used these to replace the JBL OEM speakers in a pair of PRX 5 series powered speakers.and they work great and the bolt pattern is exactly the same. Cost about half as much as the JBL's and the amp now runs cooler because these are 8 ohm instead of 2 ohm. The output of the amp is less at 8 ohm but the efficiency of the Deltalite is 100 db and makes up for the loss. The amp is no longer red hot to the touch when playing outdoors so maybe they'll be less prone to failure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and Mighty WonderI have many speakers, guitar amplifiers and cabinets. I bought the 2512's , to test them against the Eminence Delta Pro12 A model. When I originally got them, I compared them to the pro 12A and found them similar but less bass and slightly more midrange and very clean. My test amp is a 77 Fender Twin Reverb, modded to 1963 specs. The tubes are 6L6WGC from tube amp doctor, biased at 43ma, and the preamp tubes are the 7025 performance series from The Tube Store, performance matched. Initially thought the 2512 were OK, but nothing special. I had them in the twin in an open back. I kind of liked them, but something was missing. I have tried vintage EVM 12L, JBL K 120, eminence wizard, eminence swamp thang, eminence red white an blues and other similar speakers. In m opinion they were all ok but still something missing. I built a 2+ cubic foot wedge cabinet with a sealed back out of birch plywood. The cabinet is internally braced. Now these speakers really rock, very clean. I can turn the bass on the twin to 3 or 4 and have plenty, especially at low volume. I can crank the twin exceptionally loud and have it stay clean and dynamic. I can hear every pedel as it was ment to sound. All my vintage guitars sound clearly different from Gibson SG, Les Paul, Gretsch and Strat. Also I recommend matching other guitar speakers as I described above for different response characteristics . So far 1 eminence red white and blues and 1 eminence 2512 is one of the best combinations I have tried with a sealed back enclosure with my modded Fender Twin. I highly recommend this combo.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great speaker when used correctlyI used 2 of these in a pair of Bill Fitzmaurice Jack 12's and couldn't be happier. The application was for a High School drama club, so they needed to be rugged, easy to carry around and capable of enough punch to fill a 300 seat auditorium. The neo magnet makes for a very light speaker cab; both cabs are easily hauled around on a dolly or, with the installed spring handles, a very doable 1 person per cab carry. As a bass cab, there was plenty of clarity, but I'd suggest deploying these in pairs for that application; 1 12" lacked the oomph that bassists would require. These speakers pack enough punch to get low on full range music, yet are nimble enough to bang out midrange with authority. Designers should be careful of a rising response from 1k to 3.5k with a pronounced peak at 2.5k. In the right application, this can be used to your advantage (mains or monitors). In Bill's Jack 12 design, these speakers truly shine.Speaking of the right application, I'm very surprised at the reviews with 3 or less stars. Well, not so surprised considering they used this as a guitar speaker and nowhere in the product description or literature does it state that this is the correct application. Stick to Eminence's recommendations (Main, Monitor or bass guitar) and you'll be rewarded with great sound. Not every 12" is a good guitar speaker nor is every 15" a good bass guitar speaker. My biggest pet peeve with Neo speakers in general is that the price of Neodymium, a rare earth metal used in the magnet, has skyrocketed due to 4/1/11 tax increases by the Chinese Government, the largest exporter of rare earth metals. Due to this almost doubling in cost, I will be looking for other alternatives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value - light, handles a lot of powerI'm a bass player - (both electric and upright string bass. This is an excellent speaker. This is a replacement for an EVM 12L speaker and another Electro Voice bass speaker in a Mesa Boogie cabinet. The Eminence is smoother and more "musical" sounding speaker, and it is about 15 lbs. lighter!

I want to replace the speaker in an old 120 watt kickback cabinet. Would the neo lite 2512 work. Would the lower watts affect the erformance too much?

Are these speakers good for midrange vocals? Are they louder than the kappa 12a or delta 12a vocal wise. Looking to use these in my car for mids Along with a 10" and horn

Asked by: mike2131
Looking strictly at SPL numbers, this will be more sensitive (louder) than the other two, but it is by a small margin and really depends on the frequency range you want to use them in.

What will the frequency response of this driver yield in a sealed box of 1.5 cu.ft.?

Asked by: Mijknarf
This driver will have an F3 of 90 Hz in that volume, sealed.

I would like to use these as a dedicated midbass, perhaps starting at something like 80Hz.  I have been thinking about one per cabinet, with each cabinet being approximately 2.0 ft^3.  Can you please offer your opinion, and suggest a usable midbass range

This speaker rated at 250w rms 500w power, but some list it as 500w max. I have been advised that the actual max is 1000w @8ohm. These will be used to replace woofers in jbl cabinets useing QSC QX7 amp at 2x 725 watts

Asked by: kingmike
Eminence does not rate their drivers as RMS, Program and Peak like some other manufacturers although these will still be fine with that amplifier.
