Product Details

Eminence Delta Pro-8A 8" Midrange 8 Ohm

The Eminence Delta Pro-8A 8" Midrange/Midbass driver is optimized for professional audio or MI (musical instrument) speaker system applications. Its truncated cast aluminum basket is great for stacking in a line array. The heat sink-style fins between the frame and magnet provide critical cooling to the voice coil, thereby reducing power compression and increasing wattage capacity.

Eminence Delta Pro-8A 8" Midrange 8 Ohm
Eminence Delta Pro-8A 8" Midrange 8 Ohm is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eminence Delta Pro 8aBought 4 for some small floor wedges, and these are excellent! Great for vocal and guitar monitors. My boxes are sealed and about a cubic foot each, so the volume drops off below ~200 Hz. Nice clarity and detail for vocals, keys and guitars, and now I have tiny, lightweight wedges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb detail - with guts! For something that can chase you out of the living room - this is a one beautiful sounding driver. I have it in a 2-way with the equally great Radian 475PB, using a second order Linkwitz-Riley design. Crossed at 1270Hz, the detail and smoothness of the Eminence is almost indistinguishable from the 475PB in the crossover range. Of course, I'm also using Alpha-Core foil inductors, Sonicaps and Mills resistors, so I'm getting great detail anyhow, but I'm still impressed with the effortless warmth and detail the Pro-8A produces. The only negative when using it as a residential speaker, is that with the bigger magnet and cast frame you get weight - especially considering that I'd like the option of using it as a large bookshelf unit. But my basic design uses an aluminum, skeletal frame with a separate, custom sound chamber, so I can somewhat work around the problem - but with the Radian, they're still heavy. My main goal, after all, was to have great sound with power and I don't think there's a better combination to produce that in a small package, than with both of these great American-Made drivers!

Eminence Delta Pro-8A 8" Midrange 8 Ohm

I have an existing cabinet w/ .145 cu ft internal volume. Would like to put in an Eminence Delta Pro-8. Front panel currently has 2 ports@ 1.5" dia. ea. Wondering what is the lowest frequency I can reasonable expect from this cabinet and at what power?

Asked by: rs18041
If that volume is accurate, you will not be able to get anything useful below about 100 Hz.With two 1.5" diameter ports at 4" long your tuning frequency is 130 Hz. The driver will handle 225 watts down to 100 Hz with this alignment.

Can someone post the actual dimensions for this unit? Across the flats and overall diameter. And shame on Eminence for not providing this.

Asked by: mmaki
The diameter of this driver corner to corner is 9-3/8" and flat edge to flat edge is 8".

What's the best enclosure for this speaker? Please be detailed

Asked by: Bad Brad
The recommended enclosure for this driver is 0.35 cubic feet with a 3" diameter port that is 3" long. This will provide a tuning frequncy of 100 Hz which is about as low as you want this driver to play.
