Eminence Delta Pro-12A 12" Cast Frame Driver
Eminence Delta Pro-12A 12" Cast Frame Driver is rated 4.6538 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't beat this speaker/ litteralyI bought one of these for a Reinhardt 18 combo and wow, what a difference in sound and volume. I sold my EV 12l's and now use these. I have an older ported Peavey 2x12 cabinet that I used for bass and loaded two 12A pro's in it and there was a big difference. I use at times an old Peavey Bandit 65 and it sings with this speaker. My pa rig consists of two JBL sr4732A cabinets, and one of the JBL 2206's blew and I had no time to order another or get a re-cone. I took one of my Delta 12A pro's and stuck it in the cabinet and although the speakers aren't matched, I and everyone else in the band thinks and sound is better than the 2206 speakers. Honestly, there seems to be more lows coming from that speaker or rather, the lows are more pronounced. I left it in. There's another 2206 starting to crackle and when I have to replace it, I'm putting 3 more 12A's in. The power handling will be lowered but the over all bass will be better, as with the other guitar and bass cabinets the uses them now. This is one great multi use speaker. I cross my top cabs over at 100 and 1,200 hz for the highs. These puppies sound beautiful with voice and music in general. Although the 4732A's are suppose to be tunes down to a usable 38hz, I only ever used them full range twice and they rock (of course not boosting any bass fpr "live" music). With recorded music?? No problem. I cut the lows off at 50Hz and there's plenty of bottom end.Hope this helps! These are a GREAT sounding speaker....very smooth and not too bright for guitar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a beastThis is a great sounding speaker for a 2 way system. Its performance is outstanding to 2k+ and perfect for 2 way crossover points. In a sealed cabinet with proper dampening, it can kick out bass down to about 40hz.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 65 watt, one-piece half-stack!After deciding that I'd lugged my last 4x12" half-stack without a roadie, I traded in my Fender FM100 half-stack for something more portable - a Fender FM65DSP.This amp is a 65watt modeling combo w/ a closed/ported 12". Because of the cabinet design, I figured it would deliver punch in a small package.I was never completely satisfied w/ the downsize - although my back loved it. I wondered whether a better speaker would make a difference.I was advised to contact Eminence and seek a solution. They recommended the Delta Pro 12A.The first rehearsal after installing it, jaws were dropping. My amp was a lot louder and punchier. Highs shimmer; mids are smooth; bass is tight. Because this speaker simply doesn't distort, I've been able to use more gain without turning to mush - giving me more volume headroom.I use a tubular steel amp stand. If not for that, this rig would shake the floor like a 4x12" cab. That aside, the experience is like standing in front of one.Responsiveness to playing dynamics is excellent. Even at high-gain settings, playing softly will clean the sound right up. I'm also noticing less hearing fatigue after playing at the same high volume levels - as though the smoother upper-mids are friendlier to the ear.I play classic hard rock in a 3-piece band and can now easily use this rig in small clubs where I'd normally only have confidence in a half-stack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice clean speakerYes, it does remind me a bit of an EVM 12L, but, different treble response. I drive this with a 50W tube amp and it sounds nice. Still breaking it in, but so far, so good. A good speaker for the money, especially when compared to the EV price of over $200 for their EVM 12L "classic."

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellet for guitarI mated this speaker to my Mesa Boogie Mark III head and it suits it perfectly. It is not quite as sensitive as previous speakers I used (celestions, scumbacks, alnico blue etc...) so I can get the amp to a decent volume where it sounds good, and it still tolerable to be near. Still breaking it in, but so far it sounds great. For the money I don't think I could have picked a better speaker. Definitely worth checking out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb performance and valueI built two Trapezoid, 2cu.ft. cabinets with this speaker and Selenium horn drivers crossed at 3K hz. I use them in my home studio. Superb sound quality, linear response, and highly efficient (loud). Everything from Bach to Motely Crue sounds excellent. I have a set of Mpro JBL speakers for my portable PA and these are as good or better. What a deal.. and less than $200.00 in parts for each cabinet. I will be adding a sub soon so I can entertain the neighbors.

Eminence Delta Pro-12A 12" Cast Frame Driver

Cabinet internal volume for the Delta Pro12A

I'm in the process of building a a pair of cabinets for home use What would be the ideal internal volume and port size in order to obtain the deepest bass from the Delta Pro12A? Thanks
Asked by: gilaudio
I would go for an enclosure of between 2 and 3 cubic feet. You can go bigger though once you start to get above 3 cubic feet your response will have a peak in it.For 2 cubic foot use two 4" diameter ports 6" long which gives a tuning frequency of 60hz and an f3 of about 60hz as well. For the 3 cubic foot use two 4" ports 5" long, tuning of ~55hz and an f3 of 50 hz.Any size in between also works 2.1cuft-5.9" long port, 2.2cuft-5.8", 2.3cuft-5.7". . .These sizes are not set in stone you can change them by +- 10-15% without much of a problem.
