Rated 4 out of 5 by from Talk Box replacement driverI bought this unit to replace the driver in a heil talk box for guitar. The replacement driver for the talk box cost over $90 which is more than I paid for the talk box! The Eminence was the least expensive similarly rated driver with the specs I needed. It is a bit smaller than the original but the unit fit perfectly in the enclosure and thanks to the push tab lugs on the driver, it was up and running in just a few minutes! I have only used it a few times since I replaced the driver but so far I have had no problems. Sound quality is good and the price was excellent. I recommend the Eminence driver to anyone who needs to replace the driver in a talk box.Gtarczar

Rated 5 out of 5 by from replacement for EON 305 HF driverPurchased these to replace two HF neo drivers in my JBL EON 305's not sure what caused the the 2414H-1 Tweeters to fry but they melted down and were not covered under warranty! So much for 'sonic guard'. I did not want to spend the high replacement price of the the oem driver's due to the fact that they appeared to be cheaply made and I was sure that they would not hold up again. The Eminence was much larger but I was able to fit it in the cabinet with some minimal modification.Sound IMHO is much better than the the stock JBL's. they are MUCH more robust and Im sure it will handle much more punishment. For the Money, you cant go wrong with this little gem for live sound applications. Very affordable, built like a tank, and very smooth and natural sounding. I could never quite get the vocal effects dialed in with the old tweeters as they would sound 'canny' with most effects from the mixer. I fixed the one crossover and added 1oo Watt L pads just to buffer the sound a little if needed. I run the L pad's to about 75% and get a real nice balance between the woofer and tweeter. For vocal mics, I use a very short delay and reverb combo form my lexicon equipped soundcraft mixer and the sound is now almost studio like. Huge improvement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Driver ... Execellent ValueI have used these in my variations of Bill Fitzmaurice's vented horns based on the time proven efforts of the various Lansing companies. They are hard to beat for the price-vs-performance ratio. When used with a third order crossover they sound very good, and will be difficult to damage. If however, you go with a good second order and do toast them they are very easy to and inexpensive to repair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ASD 1001I have used these drivers for monitor and small to medium FOH systems and I am amazed how smooth these drivers are. Great articulation. I have also used drivers costing 3x as much and you would be hard pressed to tell the difference. If you are going to spend $60.00 to $75.00, don't waste your money, purchase these, you will be glad you did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ASD1001 8OhmI purchased these to replace drivers in my carvin pre90 horns. They sound excelent compared to what I replaced. I'm driving them with a Crown 202 XLS. Light Duty home rec use. For the price really good deal. I only had these for three weeks so how reliable they are is still suspect:)

Are replacement diaphragms available for these drivers?

Asked by: DSLV
A replacement is not listed. However, it would be cheaper to replace the horn driver as diaphragms alone are $40. If you want to have the ability to replace - step up to the 2002

Can this be used in a Peavey PR15?

I need to replace the drivers in a couple of PR15's, and these look like they might fit. Does anyone have any experience doing this with these by chance?
Asked by: mrbungledisco
Yes it can. Please note, if the PR15 is a 1 3/8" screw on horn, it will go right on, but if it is a bolt on you will need an adapter. The Selenium ADF-25 works fine. part #264-322.

What is the voice coil diameter?

All 1 3/8" threaded drivers have a 1" throat. Please don't confuse that with the answer to my question.
Asked by: Bassist
The voice coil diameter on this driver is 1.33".

Sorry, i am new to speakers. I want to build a portable boom box. Can this tweeter just screw onto this speaker? https://wholesale.parts-express.com/eminence-beta-8cx-8-coaxial-driver--290-500 So, I would just have 2 cutouts in my boom box for speakers?

Asked by: soccer2963
Yes, this will screw right into the back of the beta CX speaker. This should work very well for you.
