Eminence APT-150 Super Tweeter with Horn 100 x 50
Eminence APT-150 Super Tweeter with Horn 100 x 50 is rated 4.25 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from made my cheap $100 pwrd monitors sound greatWorks great. I installed these on a pair of Kustom 10' powered speakers.Wow what a difference. I had to modify to make them fit, but at the end it was worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing upgrade to PEAVEY speakersI installed these to a basic set of PEAVEY full range PA speakers and was very impressed with the output and clarity of these horns. I also installed an Eminence PXB2:3K5 2-Way Crossover Board 3,500 Hz into each enclosure for added protection of both drivers. Don't think the church youngsters will be blowing any more drivers anytime soon, LOL.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice if you are good at x-over designThis is a quite good unit for the money, but it has a sort of shelved response curve that certainly does not look like the curve shown here. The curve on the Eminence website is closer to the truth, though still a bit optimistic. With the right eq. in the crossover, these can sound very nice, without it, they can be nasty. I have even used them in dual 8" MTM home systems to excellent effect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Horn TweeterI'd already bought two of these tweeters from Parts Express, so I added another. Each time I just specified the cheapest delivery, yet I got them the very next day. I don't know how Parts Express does it, but they are my first choice for anything they sell!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good bang for the buckUsing this tweeter for a custom DIY speaker, and this will work perfectly for a very nice price. Horn is somewhat large, but that is no concern on this project.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs sharp x-over, still a bit peakyI used a pair of these with the ready made Eminence 3.5 KHz 18 dB/oct x-over. Whether teamed with a Delta 10 or Beta 8 (an excellent driver by the way)they make a great PA or monitor setup, with of course a restricted bottom end. Perfect for hauling to a rehearsal space or use on stage at smaller venues. Avoiding abuse or excessive feedback they provide excellent vocal output from relatively robust power amplifiers with out damage. What I do find a bit troubling with this APT driver/horn combo is a prominent harshness, or peakiness in the high frequencies. I know this is not the result of the low end driver. After many sessions its presence makes itself known and it becomes a bit irritating. This particular horn my be the culprit as others seem to be happy with the driver itself, though I know too that when I tried crossing over at a lower frequency and a 12 dB/oct the sound was a complete disaster - way too much resonance and honk. This driver must be crossed over at 3.5 KHz or higher for the system to sound good in my opinion. As many others have commented I'm liking the 7" Dayton waveguide with a decent driver and will not use the APT in future projects.

PE could you post the actual frequency response graphs?

I just noticed that the frequency response graphs in the product details for the APT-150, APT-200, and APT-80 are all identical. Could you post the actual frequency response graphs or remove the generic ones? The real frequency response graphs look very different.
Asked by: Robocam
The APT horn/drivers all use the same screw-on motor. There may be slightly different frequency responses between them, but that is because of the horn itself. This is minor compared to the dispersion differences. This is a really good sounding combination of compression driver and horn, and the price point is very low. I don't know what you use for a woofer/mid, but consider [if you play LOUD music] the Eminence 1001 driver and the same horn-or equal. The difference is loudness for live sound.
