The Class D XPR510D is the largest mono car audio power amplifier available from Dual, and they pulled out all the stops building it. Not only is it 2 ohm stable, with a MOSFET pulse width modulated power supply to handle high current demands, it's built so solidly that you can combine two XPR510Ds together (also called strapping or amplifier bridging) to increase maximum output power from 1,500 to 3,000 watts RMS (into a two ohm load).
At this price point, you would be happy with just a plain amplifier without the extra features that Dual offers with the XPR510D: Extruded aluminum heatsink, easy-to-reach side mounted controls, auto-reset speaker short circuit protection, a variable 40 to 180 Hz low-pass crossover, variable bass boost, a variable 17 to 50 Hz subsonic filter (to protect ported subwoofers from frequencies below the port tuning frequency), a remote bass volume control module, and large power, ground, and speaker output terminals.
