Yes you will need to cut holes in the baffles for whichever drivers you choose.

Could you fit a 6.5 speaker on top?

As a first attempt at building a full range vented speaker for audio only, would this enclosure work for either the Tang Band W4-1320 or W5-1611? What size port tube should I use? I do have a subwoofer to complement these.
These will both work in that volume but of the two options the W4-1320SIF looks better. I would recommend a 1-1/2" diameter, 3" long port for a tuning frequency of 70 Hz.

What exactly is the finish on these cabinets? Or is there any finish at all? Can't quite tell from the pics. Is it just particle board finish?
These and all of our knock-down cabinets are bare MDF.

Can we order just the front baffle? I want to experiment with different drivers.
Unfortunately the baffles are not available separately for these cabinets.

What hardware do you recommend to make an attractive, removable front baffle?
I would use these #8-32 screws in this driver mounting kit, but substitute the t-nuts for these hurricane nuts.Part #: 081-1080 & 260-779A small square of 3/4" ply or mdf glued to the inside of each corner would provide 4 secure mounting points. A drill press should be used to avoid misaligned holes and drill out a recess for the bolt heads. This is what I plan on doing at least, hope that helps.
