Product Details

Dayton Audio TS320D-4 12" Titanic Mk 4 Subwoofer 4 Ohm

Dayton Audio's Titanic series subwoofers are world-renowned for their ability to create deep, hard-hitting bass with minimum distortion. This line of subwoofers has always been known for prodigious amounts of Xmax, relatively high sensitivity specifications, and an amazing ability to handle power.

Dayton Audio takes everything that has made the Titanic subwoofers stand out as top-of-the-line subwoofers in the loudspeaker industry and improves upon them in the Mk 4 generation. The TS320D-4 12" Titanic Mk 4 subwoofer has been redesigned from the ground up to improve upon every aspect possible, while maintaining the essence of the Dayton Audio Titanic series.

It All Starts with the Motor

The re-tooled motor focuses even more magnetic flux in the gap, for a lower Qes and Qts. This allows for higher fidelity performance in a similar sized enclosure as the Mk III 12" subwoofer, when more power is applied.

This American-made subwoofer has the muscle you need to pressurize your home or mobile audio system with deep, clear, clean bass. Check the structural integrity of your house, or car, before applying power!

And Everything that Made the Titanic Subwoofers Famous

Dayton Audio's TS320D-4 Titanic Mk 4 subwoofer is built with a sturdy aluminum die-cast frame to keep everything perfectly aligned while handling the insane amounts of air pressure it's capable of generating inside of a sealed enclosure. An extended pole piece keeps more of the voice coil in the gap for more motor control.

Frame openings under the spider help to reduce power compression (and trapped air) and the vented pole piece keeps the edgewound voice coil cool, for high power handling. The Kevlar-reinforced paper cone resists deformation under excursion, and the large rubber surround keeps cone travel linear. For a tight seal on the baffle, an integrated rubber gasket is pre-mounted to the frame.

Dayton Audio TS320D-4 12" Titanic Mk 4 Subwoofer 4 Ohm
Dayton Audio TS320D-4 12" Titanic Mk 4 Subwoofer 4 Ohm is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Titanic sound from these SubwoofersI have the MK III, I put it directly into a 1.8 cu ft sealed box with a Bash 300 amp, to replace a 15-yr-old driver. The bass is deep and tight, and picture-rattling loud when the sound track demands it. With my test CD and SPL meter I measure a listening area sound which is almost flat down to 20 Hz. I am extremely happy with this subwoofer. Now, if the MK IV is even better than the MK III, then it may well be the best ever deal in subwoofer drivers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from incredible american bassWords cannot describe how awesome this sub Is just listened to solar sailor on the tron soundtrack and it was incredible! Pounding bass with laser precision is about the only way it can be described but that doesnt even scratch the surface thanks parts express and thank you to all the hard working folks at Dayton audio

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best. Hands downIf your looking for a sub that will perform in any parameter you desire this is the one. I am an audiophile in my mid 40's and have experimented with many brands and set ups. With one of these you can fill most any room with as little as a 250 watt amp that is compatible to most if not all systems. From opera to cracking the walls this is the one. In a 3 ft cu box can achieve down to around 19. you can run the programs, its proven. And controllable, not sloppy be it music or theater. I have and use the Mk III

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Sub!After doing many hours of research, I chose this and am glad I did so. I installed it into a Dayton 2cf box (with extra bracing and 1 pound of fill - no internal amp) and it sounds great running. It's powered by a QSC RMX 850. The base is accurate and sounds great to me. I've played classic rock, dance and watched a couple movies and thus far, the sub is very satisfying.

Dayton Audio TS320D-4 12" Titanic Mk 4 Subwoofer 4 Ohm

Was thinking of trying out a simple build. Will this work with the Dayton swc3-vi 3.0 cu ft leaving it sealed? Also, if that will be ok should I go with a bash 500, bash 300 or yung 300?

Asked by: audiophizile
I would recommend the 2.0 cubic foot sealed enclosure for this instead. The Bash 500 will be the best choice for this application.

Is it suited for downfiring enclosures??? I think that if IIC that was one of the limitations of the prior models...Do not forget that downfiring has advantages as well...

Asked by: kanatronic
The total percent of sag of this cone is about 6% so it is above what is recommended for a down firing application.

Using WinISD I calculated a ported box with a volume of 3.55 cubic feet with slot port 2-5/16" by 18-9/16" and 44" long to tune to 25 Hz.  The unusual length is to accommodate aesthetic design.  Does this sound appropriate?  Bash 500s driven.

Asked by: ErikG
That volume and tuning all look fine.

Will this driver fit and mount correctly in a M&K Volkswoofer cabinet? Will the Dayton Audio 250 watt plate amplifier do a proper job driving this speaker?

Asked by: Rich86
In terms of cabinet volume this woofer will work well. The mounting dimensions are listed on the product page, I would compare these to the dimensions of the original woofer and cutout diameters. Yes the 250 watt plate amp will work well with this woofer.

Can I use the pre made dayton audio 3.0 cubic foot box with this sub? If so can I port the box? And if I can what size port do I use?

Asked by: jtw88
This will work in 3 cubic feet vented although the port may be a tight fit. I would recommend a dual flared 4" diameter port that is 15" long for a tuning frequency of 25 Hz.

Basic question: do you have to consider the driver's volume displacement when calculating the cabinet volume?

Asked by: spartanz28
The volumes given are net, which include the driver displacement.
