Dayton Audio SWC15 15" Subwoofer Cabinet
Dayton Audio SWC15 15" Subwoofer Cabinet is rated 4.3333 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice enclosure, but read the fine printThe fit and finish of the black models was a pleasant surprise. As others have said, the enclosures are definitely well-built. Bought two, planing to use an external amp for stereo bass channels, place the pair for coupling, and make another cabinet to surround them. The finish looks good enough that we're thinking of using them as-is. Rated down on performance and features because the size of the cutouts severely limits the choice of drivers. The product description does say the cabinets are made to be used with certain PE drivers, but didn't realize that most drivers use a larger cutout. I've had good experience with PE speakers, but the only compatible drivers are 4-ohm rather than 8-ohm, and are currently not in stock. The size difference is a few millimeters. It may be possible to widen the cutout with a router, but paid for finished cabinets, and of course there's a risk of damaging that nice finish in the process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well built 15 inch sub cabinetThis cabinet is well built and comes with some batting installed. The grill on the unit is built like a tank, no flimsy wobbly buzzing stuff here.I drove this cabinet to near 120 db levels in testing while sweeping the frequency from 25-250Hz with my outboard test gear. When a Dayton Audio DCS380 is installed I had to add more batting to achieve the proper dampening for the driver.Overall you will enjoy the performance and quick build of this cabinet. Work with the staff at PE to match up your components and you will be pleased with the outcome.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Finally have bass binsI'm presently unable to build large cabinets, so I purchased two of these cabinets to use as enclosures for a couple of RS270S-8's that were purchased on clearance; I glued in a 1" front baffle and a piece on the back panel to seal the amp cutout and have a nice pair of low Q sealed bass bins. Cabinets quality if above average and for my application I'm very satisfied with the results. Shipping was about $25 to my area, but the PESAVE5 helped.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does not fit RSS390HF-4WARNING: This cabnet DOES NOT FIT the Dayton RS series 15" sub. (found that out the hard way. =(. Appears to be an excellent cabinet, just not for that sub.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from High quality cabinet makes sub building easy!!Solid Build and packed with care. Drop in a 15" and the matching amp and you are good to go. Now if you wanted to use a different amp it would be a different story but I am happy with the cabinet!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the $I bought two of these to house DVC 15" subs with the SA240 mounted on back for power - these boxes are very high quality and well constructed and everything bolted together with minimal hassle. Recommended.....go with a DVC sub in these boxes - you will be glad you did. Stunning fullness and lows.

Dayton Audio SWC15 15" Subwoofer Cabinet

I plan to install either the Reference 15" HO or Titanic MK4 in this, I don't mind enlarging the front battle cutout question is is their enough room to enlarge to fit either driver to make them fit ? rear ok for SPA1000 enlargement cutout ?

Asked by: Robbiehamouda
These these will both fit in the cabinet with the proper cutout modifications. The maximum woofer depth (from the back of the mounting flange) is 8-1/2" and the maximum amplifier depth is 6-1/4".

Does this work with the Ultimax woofer?

Asked by: Twisted
The woofer recess cutout will need to be enlarged about 1/4" in order for the Ultimax woofer to fit properly, but the volume will work well with that woofer.

is there enough room to increase the plate amp cut out(8.5 x 8.5) to accommodate the larger spa500(10 x 10)

Asked by: RBick
Yes there would be enough space for this.

Securing Driver and amp.

Can you use Hurricane hardware here in lieu of wood screws? i think it might be more secure over time...
Asked by: scooterdunne
You can use whichever method of driver mounting you would like. Usually hurricane or T-nuts on an amplifier or lighter woofer is not necessary, wood screws work perfectly fine for most applications.

Any plans to offer an 18" cabinet or kit

I love your cabinets, but I'm looking for something bigger. Do you guys have any plans to offer an 18" cabinet or kit?
Asked by: JesseG
PE offers the 245-328 knock down birch cabinet. This cabinet will allow you to fully customize your subwoofer system including your amplifier selection.Use the woofer selection chart or call tech support to aid in woofer selection.Good Luck!

Screws or huricane nuts and hex bolts?

In the product description it states all you need is a few screws. Is that correct, or are there holes for huricane nuts?
Asked by: PHXHEAT
This enclosure requires standard wood screws for both the amplifier and the woofer.
