Dayton Audio SS-SAT Satellite Speaker Stand Black Pair
Dayton Audio SS-SAT Satellite Speaker Stand Black Pair is rated 3.9032 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Customer Service better than this producrI already had a pair of these stands for the satellite speakers of my AltecLansing 2.1 for my computer desk. After upgrading my speakers (Energy 5.1 Take Classic), for home theater system decided to order a second pair to use for that setup. Two day shipment was prompt. However this pair of stands proved to need large dose of TLC to work. Specs state that the side clamps will hold speakers as slim as 4 1/8 " (which just happen to be dimension width of Energy CB-5 speakers). After much coaxing and colorful language I was able to gt them closed down to that dimension. Considering the speakers have a high gloss piano black finish, I opted to attach felt pads with adhesive backing to the inside for a snug and scratch free fit.. There is no method given to conceal speaker wire, perhaps pulling the wire through the adjustable vertical pole before mounting the top clamps.OK, we are done, correct, hold on . Less than two weeks later, I decide to vacuum the carpet, grabbed the stand to move it out of the way and "SNAP!", the base pole breaks off where it threads into the weighted tripod base. Just an FYI, the Energy speaker weighs in at maybe three pounds, should not be a terrible load on the stand.I put in a call to tech support to see if I could get replacement parts but that option was not available but they did e-mail a Return prepaid shipping label and stands will get sent back tomorrow. Kudos to the folks at tech support, they were most helpful. These stands will work for you if willing to tinker with them, I'm recently retired so i had the time .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average durability, poor packaging.I'm torn on these. The hardware for the most part is very rugged. A very heavy nice base, with solid poles. The WEAK link here is the plastic tightener piece that brings the poles together. Bith arrived cracked due to poor packaging techniques. Even if they had arrived intact, I would question their durability.I would pass on these unless you are planning on setting them up ONCE and never touch them again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Item, Great Price.I bought these stands for my Dyaton small bookshelf speakers that I got from Parts Express. They are really well made steel, an unbelievable bargain for only $35. And the shipping was awesome, too. I had them 2 days after I ordered them. WOW! Highly recommended.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Support bracket brokenI as excited about these stands. However the weld on the support brakett snapped and now it's holding together by one weld. I'm hoping Parts Express will send a new bracket. And maybe look at having the welds improved.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value, shoddy weld job. These stands are excellent for the price, but - as others have stated - the build quality could be better. 2 days after receiving them, I had one of the clamps snap off at the weld where it mated with the connector tube. It was an easy fix with a little JB Weld. I would recommend everyone reinforce this area before setting them up.My specific pair of stands did some with a slight tilt, but I used the extra adhesive foam pads to shim the speakers to offset it.While it did have some quirks out of the box, I would still highly recommend them to anybody. The height adjust mechanism is good, the footprint is small enough not to be obtrusive, and (after reinforcement) the clamps are secure enough to handle anything less than a full tilt.

Dayton Audio SS-SAT Satellite Speaker Stand Black Pair

There appears to be quite a few reviews that mention poor build quality.  Have there been any recent improvements made to these, such as stronger welds, etc.?

Asked by: Beastmaster

Will these work well or support the Dayton BR 1 speakers?

Asked by: Beaver Newby
Not without modification. The base of the br1 according to the description is 8 5/8" W by 11"D. These stands only expand to 7 1/2". You could, however, attach a board of less than 7 1/2" to the bottom of each speaker, such that the board fits into stand.

How wide is the base on these stands?

Asked by: lrysbrwn15
The ends of the legs will be on an approximately 15.5" circle. From one leg to the next will be about 13.5" at the widest point.
