Dayton Audio SAT-BK Satellite Speaker Pair Black

Dayton Audio’s compact multi-purpose speakers are designed to provide excellent clarity and detail for use in any surround sound or general audio application. These speakers are capable of much bigger sound than their small size suggests—the smooth blending of their optimized long-excursion woofers and poly dome tweeters is the key to their outstanding performance. The contemporary styling and black finish allows them to blend in with any decor, while the weather-resistant design means they can be used indoors or out. Included mounting bracket hardware and rubber feet for facilitating stand-mounting, wall-mounting, or free standing operation.

Dayton Audio SAT-BK Satellite Speaker Pair Black
Dayton Audio SAT-BK Satellite Speaker Pair Black is rated 4.2407 out of 5 by 54.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't Beat These for the MoneyI bought these over a month ago for use in a secondary application. We already had a high end home theater in another room and used these Dayton speakers for the rear channels in surround sound in the living room. I sold high-end speakers years ago and the brackets we sold started in price at what I paid for these speakers which came with their own brackets. These speakers' performance has truly impressed me. They have spacious, lifelike sound, and image so well I do not miss the 7.1, rear, center speakers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wantedI bought these speakers as an upgrade for a cheap Sylvania all in one HT system that has become my computer sound system in my basement music room. This is one of those things that came with a DVD player 5.1 RCA's out of that to the sub then all the sat's out of that. It is maybe 6 watts/ch. I don't use the center or surrounds anymore just the sub and fronts to play music when I practice bass guitar. When I first hooked them up they sounded ok, but when I took the crossover off in the sound card and played them full range they distorted horribly. So did the originals though, but these sounded worse.Out comes the old Radio Shack passive subwoofer that I just replaced the sub in with the Dayton Audio DVC310-88 12" This sub has a passive second order 12db crossover with satellite outputs somewhere around 400hz. Same distortion but with bass. Now I am thinking something isn't right, I have had this sub for years and it always took the lows out of the satellites for distortion free performance. So now out comes my old Alesis RA-100 75watts/ch @8ohm. I feed that from the sound card and wham there it is, crystal clear highs, smooth mids, and a little punch right over the crossover point. These Speakers sound excellent now, just goes to show how a good amp with enough power makes all the difference in the world. All that distortion was a cheap, low power amp in the HT sub pretty much clipping at 1/2 volume and just couldn't keep up. I am very pleased with these speakers and for $35 you can't go wrong. Just the upgrade I needed to try and keep up with my new 1500 watt bass amp while I practice some Led Zep and Hendrix.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dayton is best bang for buck! This was my first real speaker purchase, so I'm not scholar, but paired with the Onkyo TS-SR313 and the other Dayton 5.1 speakers, I'm 100% happy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great soundReally great sound. But I am new to the entire world of surround sound and wonder why we haven't had this before. But being new, I thought you could just wire these right in to your tv. Well no, you have to have a receiver and miles of wires and other things to make these work. Well goodness how great they sound once you get all the things to make them work. What a difference and how much more fun it makes it to watch a movie.Perfect for a small basement, if we had more room we would get some more!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great speakers, replaced Bose surroundsAdd a little acousta-stuf polyfill and they sound great. I build custom speaker bars and when a customer wants separate rear surrounds instead of all 5 channels in the bar, these work perfect. Can't beat the price either.

Dayton Audio SAT-BK Satellite Speaker Pair Black

Why would one choose these rather than the B652 that are less expensive?

Asked by: Jamo
I bought them over the B-652 because they are shielded and smaller. Also, this speaker has a 2nd order high pass x-over on the tweeter, the woofer runs full range. I *believe* the B-652s only have a 1st order x-over on the tweeter, which simply isn't enough to combat tweeter distortion at frequencies near tweeter Fs. Moreover, both the B-652s and the SAT-BKs x-overs could be modified if one were so inclined, although at this price point, most are not so inclined.

Separate lines for the tweeter & woofer, or one input with an internal crossover?

Asked by: PRM13
1 input,, internal x'over

Would the SAT-BK lend themselves to a similar mod as the B652 adding the amp and SD/USB interface?

Asked by: firedmyboss
These are awesome speakers just as they are. I run them as-is for the fronts for my bedroom system with very pleasing results.

Are These Speakers Shielded so that they are safe to use near a Display?

Asked by: HuskerFan
Yes, these are indeed magnetically shielded. Be aware that usual flat screen LED displays are not bothered by magnetic fields, only CRTs are.

Which speaker connection would be better for these speakers, Banana Plugs or Spade connectors?

Asked by: MonoPestoso
Spade...Banana is too much bulk.

Would the part number 275-025 be a suitable tweeter upgrade for this speaker if I could make it fit?

Asked by: rome2000
Technically it will work as a replacement tweeter but there will likely need to be heavy modifications required to get it to mount.
