Dayton Audio RSS265HO-44 10" Reference HO DVC Subwoofer

Dayton Audio's 10" RSS265HO-44 High Output Reference Series subwoofer is purpose-built for moving lots of air, extreme power handling, extremely low distortion... and it does it all with an extremely small enclosure requirement! The minimum airspace optimization of this driver makes it perfect for car audio automotive applications and limited space home audio applications.

To minimize distortion, three copper short-circuit paths are built into the motor. This reduces second, third, and intermodulation distortion to levels only attained previously by expensive, exotic subwoofers. A side benefit is reduced energy storage and inductance, making the RSS265-HO-44 a very musical subwoofer. In fact, frequency response remains very flat up to 500 Hz.

Additional features include: a heavy gauge black anodized aluminum cone that resists deformation from extreme air pressure levels found inside of small sealed enclosures, a fully ventilated motor for reduced power compression, a rigid cast aluminum frame for structural integrity, and a tough rubber surround that won't wear down over years of use. Dual 4-ohm voice coils allow for a wide array of wiring options.

As with all Dayton Audio subwoofers, you receive a full 5-year warranty. Designed and engineered in the U.S.A.

Dayton Audio RSS265HO-44 10" Reference HO DVC Subwoofer

Hello, I was looking into purchasing two of these subwoofers for a car audio application, and was wondering if they would work well in a sealed enclosure with 0.61 cu ft per chamber?

Asked by: Attano
Yes these would work well with that type of volume. Your F3 would be in the upper 40's/low 50's which is idea for a car application.

Thinking about getting 2 of these for 0.61 sealed boxes and wiring them with soundqubed mono amp at 1 ohm. Should I go with 750rms @ 1 ohm or can they handle 1200 @ 1 ohm? I also only have 100 rms going to my door speakers

Asked by: Jabba
These are rated for 600 watts RMS each so 1200 watts would not necessarily be too much, although they should get plenty loud and reach their limits with only 750 watts as well. I always try to shoot for more power when it comes to subwoofers so I would recommend the 1200 watt model.

I have 500w of power at 2 ohms and a .9 cu/ft sealed box.  I would run this driver at 2 ohms.  I'm worried about the low sensitivity on this subwoofer.  In your opinion is 500 watts enough power to drive this adequately?  Thank you.

Asked by: balane
Yes, 500 watts will be enough to get this woofer to its limits in that volume. I would not be concerned.

I have an empty MTX Thunderform that has 0.6 ft^3 of internal volume that fits under the center console of a 2013 Suburban. I am planning to power it with a JL Audio 500/1 slash v2 amplifier. Would this be the best fit in this configuration?

Asked by: Joew418
Yes either this or the single coil HO 10" will work well in that volume.

I have a home sub enclosure with about 1.3 cu.ft. and the bash 500s plate amp. I am thinking about a music and home theater setup with 2 10's. Would these work, if not any other recommendations

Asked by: dant
Do you have two enclosures or two woofers sharing that volume?

What should size box, vent, tune should I go for in a car-application (hatchback prius), I listen to mostly hiphop?

Asked by: Harman
I would only recommend a sealed enclosure for this woofer, especially if you are going after SQ. A 1 cubic foot box will allow this to play into the upper 20's without a problem.
