Dayton Audio® loudspeaker kits are designed to offer the speaker-building hobbyist truly high-end sound quality and aesthetic appeal. Because they are based on the Dayton Audio finished loudspeaker cabinets, the appearance of these systems is world-class. Your choice of three beautiful exterior surfaces (gloss black, cherry, and maple) and two styles (straight- or arc-sided) is sure to blend with any decor.
All engineering from cabinet to crossover was done in the U.S.A., ensuring Dayton Audio speakers will faithfully reproduce the music that you know, with tonal qualities that you prefer. Strong bass and a very smooth top end without unnatural midrange glare are traits common to all Dayton Audio designs. The superb performance of these speakers is guaranteed; the choice of which one is for you should be based on cabinet size, output requirements, driver preference, and personal cosmetic appeal. Although Dayton Audio kits can be assembled by a beginner in one or two hours, the speaker systems' acoustical performance reveals their superb technical pedigree.
Since these speakers are in kit form, you will realize substantial savings by building them yourself. All woodworking has been done; assembly consists of securing drivers and ports, attaching damping materials, and wiring the crossovers and drivers. The process does not require expensive tools or measurement equipment—a general knowledge of electronics is helpful but not required. Crossover networks are completely pre-assembled and ready to connect to the drivers and input terminals using the supplied wires and push-on terminals. No soldering required!
Dayton Audio offers a completely new level of quality previously unavailable in commercially available loudspeaker kits. All of the critical aspects of high-end loudspeaker design and manufacturing have finally been combined into the ultimate DIY kit-building experience. You can own a finished speaker system rivaling those found at exotic high-end salons, and best of all you'll be able to say "I built it myself!"
