Dayton Audio RS150-4 6" Reference Woofer 4 Ohm
Dayton Audio RS150-4 6" Reference Woofer 4 Ohm is rated 4.4286 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from PrecisionI am running these woofers in a two way cabinet (12db/octave @1200Hz) with vents tuned to 50Hz and they sound amazing with no perceivable coloration. One could easily spend ten times more on a 6" driver and not notice the difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice little woofer!!!I just got this unit in today. After being reassured that it would work to replace the 6" woofer from my Boston Acoustics BA4800 4.1 computer speaker set, I ordered it last Monday. I did have to cut a piece of 1/4" MDF to use as an adapter as the original hole was too big. Luckily I had a piece on hand that I had to cut the hole in and about 3/4" off one end to have a perfect fit. I'm typing this listening to the new Pentatonix Vol III EP and it sounds great! Nice clean bass to go along with the 4 full range speakers. Very nice match! I'm loving having my bass back. Thanks for a great product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great resolution but hard in the midsNice little 6" driver. Very good quality for the price. I built a pair of speaker with the Vifa dual ring radiator tweeter. I did the crossover at 3K. The speaker is very high resolution but I have a nasty midrange peak that I can't get rid of. It may not be the driver's fault. It may be my crossover design or something or the .23 CF box. I may keep trying to make it right or may ditch them and try another driver.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Overall SpeakerI used these to replace my OEM Audi/B8 speakers as it had a factory amp and these speakers were ideal for the watt/rms required. Good overall speaker, and produces adequate mid/bass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great replacement for BMW E46 HKUsed this speaker as a replacement for my BMW M3 E46. Works great. The polarization question mentioned in one of the other reviews can be solved by connecting your old speaker to a battery (like AA) and noting the direction the cone moves for a given battery polarity. Repeat with the new speaker. Match the speaker terminals so that the new cone moves in the same direction as the old one. Happy Installing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from tough auto location solveI bought these speakers to replace the rather specialized and highly distorting HK's in my BMW 330CiC door. As hard as BMW tried to inhibit upgrading their speakers these were a pleasant drop in replacement. I am not sure I polarized them right because of the lack of clues in the BMW but they are clear and strong sounding. That's just what I was trying to accomplish.

Dayton Audio RS150-4 6" Reference Woofer 4 Ohm

Would this or th dc160-4 have better frequency response between 125 and 1800. Looking to put a few in a jeep. Hard to decide which woofer to use

Asked by: queb
The Dayton Audio RS150-4 will be the better of the two.

I need replacement drivers for my old Bose AM5 Series II bass module.  Dimensionally they look like they'll fit in the enclosure, but will they jive with the stock Bose crossover and wacky multi-baffle multi-port box?  The OEM drivers look unremarkable.

How will these sound in a car door?  tweeters go down below 2.5khz, I think. Stereo is 25 watts RMS/channel

Asked by: berto2
These will work very well in a car door and should have no issues crossing at 2,500 Hz.

I would like to use these mids in a car audio application but I'm having trouble finding a tweeter to use with them. From what I understand these mids are only good to around 3kHz so what would be a good tweeter option that I could cross around 2-2500hz?

Asked by: BF1986
The main spec to look for is the Fs of the tweeter. You want around 1300 or lower ideally. One that is worth considering though is 264-1028 as it is small, but still able to work with a 2500 Hz crossover point.

Hi there. I want to use two of these woofers to make an 8ohm setup. With a Dayton RS150-8 6" Reference Woofer as the midrange. Any ideas on a tweeter and crossover to use? and would this make a good 3 way speaker? thankyou

4 yrs ago as answered below, .53 cu ft was listed as the ideal volume for this woofer. I have a Boston Acoustics BA4800 computer spkr set that the sub is a band pass box with that total volume, 3"X8.5" flared port. Would this spkr work as a replacement?

Asked by: Coolmeadow Kid
Yes this will work as a replacment in that cabinet.
