Dayton Audio PMPC-6.2 6.2uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor

Dayton Audio is once again leading the charge at bringing high quality, high value products to the speaker building community. Their new line of 1% tolerance capacitors gives you the ability to construct high-precision crossovers, which can eliminate "stereo wandering" and solidify the imaging and soundstage of your speaker systems. Commercial manufacturers know of this problem and buy thousands of capacitors so they can hand-match them for their products-- now you can effectively do the same, because every capacitor is matched! These capacitors share the same excellent build quality, long-term reliability, and sonic clarity of the standard Dayton Audio metallized polypropylene capacitors. Well-known in the industry as the brand of choice for use in loudspeaker crossovers, they offer the performance of boutique capacitors at a fraction of the price. Let the excellent reputation of Dayton Audio and their Precision Capacitors help you build the best speakers that you possibly can.

Dayton Audio PMPC-6.2 6.2uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor
Dayton Audio PMPC-6.2 6.2uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improved an old pair of Altec Bolero speakersThese were a nice solution to the old caps of recently purchased Altec Bolero speakers. The speakers sounded good with the old caps but just weren't up to their potential. After the recap the sound stage, bass and highs all were markedly improved to the point they relpaced my Klipsch Heresy's for now. The Heresy's were also recapped but with Sonicaps. The Dayton's seem to break in faster and don't start out harsh like the Sonicaps. After break in it's a very even match. It's not that one speaker is better than the other, just different.

Dayton Audio PMPC-6.2 6.2uF 250V Precision Audio Capacitor

Hi, I'm replacing my AR 3a capacitors and would like your recommendation for 6uf 50v; 50uf 50v and 150uf 50v capacitors. What Dayton capacitors or other would suffice for these AR 3a values? Thanks!

Asked by: glitzenberger55
I would recommend the Dayton 6.2 uF poly cap (027-427) for the 6uF and standard electrolytics for the other two, 027-354 for the 50 uF and 027-364 for the 150 uF.

x-over rebuild values

If used in a x-over with 6.0 and 20 uf npc 10% caps what would the diffference be with these 6.2 and 20 uf 1 % caps . And what would this change in the tweeter output and sound ?
Asked by: sonicbob
The difference between a 6.2 and 6.0 value is negligible. The difference between a 1% and a 10% is audibly even less, therefore I do not see an issue with replacing one with the other.
