Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for the priceI have used this speaker as a replacement for the woofers in Cerwin Vega. and Klipsch Cornwalls. This speaker out performs the old ones by a huge margin and adds to the overall soundstage. This is a great speaker for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Speaker!Purchased this Dayton to replace a much more expensive driver to use in a folded horn enclosure. Wow! The improvement in bass output, speed, and impact was substantial. The high sensitivity and superb build makes it a breeze to use with low-powered tube gear and class-t amps. I simply cannot see (nor justify) why one would need to use anything else with similar specs. Incredible speaker!

Dayton Audio PA380-8 15" Pro Woofer

i have 2 cerwin vega p1500x self powered speakers, will these speakers work well with them? they are to be used in a patio, not to loud but with karaoke and a dj plugged into them.

Asked by: coconutseptx
These will work well assuming they will physically fit. You will have to compare the dimensions of the original woofer with the dimensions listed online for these.

I just bought 5 qsc 2150s with dual Celestion 15" drivers and the midbass is very weak even after break in.  I've owned some JBLs with 15s (the 3677 with a 2035hpl driver)  and the midbass was insane.  Do these Daytons have JBL kinda kick in the midbass ?

What would be the best cross over point from mid to high for this driver and would 2.5k be too high in a jrx 115 FOH box?

Asked by: Rhober
I generally don't recommend crossing a 15" woofer any higher than about 1200 Hz due to beaming problems that can be associated with it.

I would like to upgrade the 15" speakers in my Carvin LS1503's.  I am considering this Dayton, and the Eminence Delta-15a.  Would one of these work better than the other for my project?

Asked by: rattleboxbanddotcom
Carvin used an Eminence Kappa-15LFA type driver in this speaker, the Dayton or Delta models would not necessarily be considered an upgrade. The only upgrade I can see would be in terms or overall power handling and you will still be limited by the crossover, midrange and horn. The woofer that is in the speaker from the factory is very good as it is. If you are looking to replace a damaged woofer, the Kappa-15LFA would be the best choice.

Unfortunately getting 30 Hz with a pair of these drivers is not very practical. The recommended volume for a pair is 4 cubic feet with three 4" diameter ports that are 8" long each. This will tune the box to 47 Hz.

Would the PA 380/385 be good replacements for the K-33 in the LaScala? Would either be more suitable than the other?

Asked by: PaulAustin
Yes this will work well as a K-33 replacement.
