Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much better than I expected.....Bought this for a friends Peavey Bass Amp that had a blown original speaker. The shipped price was about 25% less than the budget and the performance is about 200% better than stock. Quite impressed with the bang for the buck. And the appearance - bigger magnet, vented voice coil, ETC.The assembled musicians at the install event (Sunday = Jamday) all guessed this speaker cost more than 2 X what was actually paid. Excellent value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Serious BANG for the buckBought 4 of these to use in a pair of hybrid 2x15 folded horns, After getting them broken in the result is Insane. Their response grossly outperforms what was originally in them, both in volume output and low end response, even down into sub 30hz range. Even when giving them 125 watts just to break them in presents some suffocating levels. I'm almost tempted to build some 4x18 or larger cabinets just to see what they can do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the money. Exceeding my expectations.I bought a pair of these for my THAM15 tapped bass horns as a temporary solution and they are still going strong a year later. I should point out that they are not the ideal driver for this box but everyone that hears them agrees that the performance is incredible for a pair of 15's. I am running them with processing between 40 and 120hz on a 2500 watt amp bridged with zero issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaced my toa subwoofersI was very pleased with the bass and sound produced by the speakers. I carry two old toa band pass subwoofer enclosures that had gotten tired over the years. After replacing with the dayton pa380 15" woofers our first show was out standing. Plenty of low end with less power. Very efficient!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality Bargain!Loaded this as a direct replacement in a Peavey PR-15, (screw holes lined up perfectly). Side by side with a "stock" PR-15 the difference in sound quality was startling and very noticeable. This Dayton Audio woofer has a much better low end, clear mids, and compared to the stock Peavey speaker there simply is no comparison as far as sound quality goes. I'll be replacing the woofer of the stock unit with one of these soon. Great speaker.

Dayton Audio PA380-8 15" Pro Woofer

How would 2 of these in a 6.6 cubic foot ported box with a 15.75x2.5x5 (WxHxD) port tuned to 40hz with a dayton polyimide horn crossed at 3khz perform?

Asked by: Tyler99
The only change I would recommend would be raising the tuning frequency. These woofers work very well, but tuning them low will hurt the output a bit. I would shorten the port to 2" instead of 5" to bring the tune up to about 50 Hz.

What port length, tune frequency, F3, and in room extension to get best bass extension w/o excursion problems using PA Cabinet Part # 245-326 , 1- Precision 4" Flared Port Part # 268-352 , and 2'' fiberglass insul. on inner walls. Tweeter mounted external

Asked by: MrNick105
I would recommend a port length of 4" in that volume. This will create a tuning frequency of 44 Hz and in room response in to the mid 30's.

What would having 2 dual 15 inch cabs each being 5 cubic feet tuned to 34 hz be like? Max spl? f3? f10?

Asked by: Tyler99
A pair of these in that volume tuned to 34 Hz will have a pretty weak low end. The F3 is 67 Hz and the F10 is 34 Hz. I would recommend raising the tuning to about 45 Hz which creates an F3 of 55 and F10 of 38, which also helps output just above the tuning frequency. Maximum modeled output is just above 130 dB.

will a pair of these handle the power from a qsc1850hd into bridge mono mode, 4 ohms 1800 watts. so 900 each. the pair are in 8 cu ft box tuned to 40hz

Asked by: nothing but bottom
These woofers are rated for 500 watts RMS each and that enclosure is about twice the size it needs to be for a pair of those. This will decrease output capability and create excursion problems earlier. I would recommend cutting the volume by half, but you will still need to be careful with that much power.
