Dayton Audio ME820C 8" Micro-Edge Coaxial Ceiling Speaker Pair

Fill your home with rich, audiophile-quality sound from Dayton Audio's Micro-Edge Series coaxial ceiling speakers, while offering a modern, stealth look for today's contemporary décor.

Tough woven Kevlar cone woofers were selected for their inherent transient response quickness and ability to convey a warm response in the critical midrange, while delivering a bass punch that is missing from most ceiling speakers.

1" silk dome tweeters provide pristine clarity for the top end of the frequency response spectrum. Additionally, ME820C ceiling speakers may be used as rear and/or side channel speakers in surround sound applications. Removable round steel grills are included.

All Dayton Audio Micro-Edge Series speakers are timbre matched to provide the best possible home theater experience.

Reviews

Dayton Audio ME820C 8" Micro-Edge Coaxial Ceiling Speaker Pair
Dayton Audio ME820C 8" Micro-Edge Coaxial Ceiling Speaker Pair is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rear surroundsJust installed as replacements for non wife approved surrounds. Quality and sound you would expect for your investment from Dayton audio speakers. The crossovers do a bit of skimping on quality parts, but probably not something you would notice from a flush mounted install like these. The wiring terminals BARELY accepted 14g wire, why no spring terminal like your reference drivers?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple SolutionEasy installation and they sound great. Using 2 pairs in conference room powered by AudioSource AMP100 set to Mono. Would want more low end for personal home listening, but the midrange sounds great which is what we'll be needing in there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great productI purchased these speakers for my living room system. I have 16' ceilings, so I wanted to make sure I had enough speaker to perform. I installed four of these with the baffles to hold back the installation, and they sound great.. I would recommend these to anyone that is looking to do the job themselves and save the money these 'audio installers' charge you for such a simple job.

Can these speakers be mounted in a ceiling tile?

Asked by: Romie40
Yes but it will depend on the tile used. We recommend using a bridge when using these in tiles, unfortunately we do not offer any that fit these so a custom option will be necessary.

What is the best amplifier for this speakers?

I would like to install 4 of this speakers in a classroom ceiling. Usual inputs will be apple tv and computer, what is the best amplifier option for this configuration of 4 speakers? thanks in advance
Asked by: danielrlopezm
A good amplifier for this would be the AudioSource AMP100 which has two inputs and can drive four 8 ohm speakers.

I already have 8 inch speakers mounted using baffles. Will these speakers mount using my baffles and the existing holes?

Asked by: ClydeW
These will not interchange with a typical 8 inch ceiling speaker. They require a 10 inch cutout in the ceiling and do not require additional baffles or grilles.
