Dayton Audio DS215-8 8" Designer Series Woofer Speaker
Dayton Audio DS215-8 8" Designer Series Woofer Speaker is rated 4.7692 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good SpeakerLarge Magnet and rubber surround huge plus for the rotting foam of yesteryear. I still own a pair of KEF C 80 for over 30 years and surround is rubber and still fantastic shape not like many Cerwin Vega's you see on Ebay. Only complaint I have about these Dayton Audio's are that there is no screen in back of manget covering the internal wiring and speaker. This means that items like insulation ect from inside speaker could be sucked in and come in contact with coil and cone. Hopefully this doesn't happen. I purchased a pair of 6.5" 10" and 15" inch Dayton Audio and they all had the protective screens on the magnet/hole assembly. sound is fine for an 8" woofer casual listening speaker. However a pair of 15" subs would be recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding!!!Used these in TDL RTL4 enclosures and was very pleased. I never heard the original drivers, so I can't compare, but these sound great. Maybe a bit punchy/bass heavy for some, but I like a bit of that anyway, if I'm being honest. I would love to make a project around some of these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from solid bassThese drivers replaced the originals in a 13 year old surround set of Infinity speakers. The sound is rock solid, excellent. Unlike the original drivers that I was always afraid of blowing I've been playing them loud, 60+ on an Onkyo 508, and they sound great. My neighbor who builds speaker systems as a hobby recommended the Dayton drivers. We are very happy with them.

Got this sub installed in a pair of Mission 737r cabinets with original crossover and tweeter and the sub is lacking lower end bass. I did use 2 smaller gauge wires (12g+12g) and connected them together to get bigger gauge, could that cause it?

I have an aiwa subwoofer model # TS-W50 U, 60 hz 90 120hz, max 150 watt 8" 8omz. i need to replace this, is this compatible with your DS 215-8 8" ?

Asked by: patyek
As long as this will physically fit in the same opening, or you can modify it for this application this woofer will work well in that enclosure and with that amplifier.

I have Bose 601 series II. Will this fit?

Asked by: MikeyV
This will work in terms of box volume although you will have to double check the physical dimensions of the original and compare to the dimensions for this woofer on the site. This has a frame that measures 8-1/2" but it will fit a fairly common 7-1/16" diameter opening.
