Rated 5 out of 5 by from expected ResultI made speakers in combination with an amplifier. Here's what happened. Four-wheel drive - 4x4. Tweeters - Tang Band 25-1933S. Sounds very energetic and just great. The body is made of 20 mm plywood front panel - 40mm

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Infinity replacement, Sort of correct.i contacted parts express for a possible replacement for an Infinity Rs325, they suggested this speaker and another one, i am overjoyed by the sound reproduce, there there is no bad remarks. But the Shipping was carelessly packed and with the size of the magnets on these they bent the front of both speakers ordered. So i had to wait for another replacement once i sent the others back. Then These things don't fit in the original opening so You need to do some rework for them to fit. So much for the tech support with there replacement. so that's the bad part. again The woofers are great no cons here.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from awesome sounding speakerI built a portable job site radio because nothing on the market is loud enough to hear where I work lots of background noise it has a dta120 amp and Dayton crossovers paired with the Dayton speakers and selenium st350 tweeter the enclosure is 22x12x10 with a 1/2 x 10 tall x 6 deep slot port it also has a Motorola Bluetooth module that has a 300ft range everyone is extremely surprised how loud it can get and it still sounds amazing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great speakers! Lexus SC430Great speakers! I used them to replace the 6x9 door woofers in my 04 Lexus SC430. The only issue I ran into is that they are deep and the magnets are huge but that equals great sound so it was worth it. I had to use ½ in spacers when mounting them so they wouldn’t be in the way of the window. Car sounds much better now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dayton Audio DS175-8, 6.5" wooferI have to give credit where credit is do, and the Dayton Audio DS175-8 is an exceptional mid priced, small 6.5" woofer, with a lot of BIG output. Before its final mounting destination, I simply cutout a hole in the box it came in, apply extra tape to the box to seal it well and stiffin it up, then add a little insulating poly foam and mount the speaker to the box for initial testing purposes. I ran the woofer on 3 separate amplifiers/receivers for clarity comparison. The excursion was beyond exceptional, without overpowering it. No popping or rattling, plus the mid freq. upper range (4000hz +) of this woofer was crystal clear through the excursion. I knew the actual bass response freqs, would be inaccurate through this initial testing, but still, I was impressed with how it sounded and performed so far. Ultimately it was finally mounted in a fair size enclosure, coupled with a midrange/tweeter and through the specifications P.E. provided, it was the perfect driver that I was looking for. Fair power handling, perfect freq. range for lows + mids, poly coated cone and center cap and rubber surrounds (a plus for deflecting moisture and humidity), 1.4" voice coil, 30 oz. magnet, 2 mounting gaskets cover the rear of the mounting flange, and a venting hole through the rear of the magnet are some of the positive features that held my interest toward buying 2 of these drivers.Overall this is a quality product that performs excellent for my application. I would recommend this woofer, and backed up by P.E.s staff and great policies, you just cant go wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Changed an infinity woofer to matchThis is the second woofer that I bought in order to change the infinity woofer to match a blown speaker that I fixed with this same designer woofer from Dayton Audio. I mentioned in the previous review that the response matched a pioneer center channel speaker at 40hz. Now the whole front hits at the same level, quite impressive for a 6 1/2" woofer! This set is connected to a Sony STR-DH740 AV receiver in a small media room with a JBL powered subwoofer and Sony center channel surrounds in the rear for a 5.1 set. Just know in advance that this is a 5 hole mount and in my case required tapering the whole to fit the frame, but it is well worth the work!

Dayton Audio DS175-8 6-1/2" Designer Series Woofer Speaker

I am going to build a set of speakers and I was wondering what would have more bass assuming I make the appropriate size box. The 6.5 designer series with a port or a the 6.5 classic with a sealed cabinet. I was also wondering which would sound cleaner

Asked by: JeremyJ
The Designer Series ported will have more extension than a Classic sealed. Unfortunately I cannot comment on which would be cleaner.

Ported box volume and port size for MTM design with flattest response please!

Asked by: Danthemadhatter
I would recommend 0.85 cubic feet for both with a 3" diameter, 8" long port for a tuning frequency of 45 Hz.

Could you recommend optimal port dimensions if these are used in the Denovo 300-7064, which are specified as having 0.56 Ft3 internally, also subtracting out the space used up by the driver and vent? Thanks.

Asked by: Mike Porper
I would recommend a 2" diameter, 5" long port that will tune the enclosure to 45 Hz.

Is this driver suitable for upward and or downward firing installations?

Asked by: Bluzcaster
I would not recommend this woofer for up or downward firing.

I'm looking at using this in a 10.8 L box. Does a 2 inch x 7.25 inch vent for a tuning frequency of 50Hz seem reasonable? Also, will these cross ok at 2500Hz with the ND28F-6 tweeter?

Asked by: Mbd87
Yes that volume and port size and crossover point will work well with this woofer.
