Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very clean natural soundI just built a 2nd order Linkwitz-Riley CO using these. A major upgrade from the oem electrolytic cap and ferrite coil! Good price on a good product. Love PE!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for vintage Magnavox Astro Sonic consolesWhen recapping a classic 1960's / 1970's Magnavox Astro Sonic console during a restoration, the crossover to the horns is often overlooked - yet they too deteriorate and significantly degrade the sound. This is the cap value and quality you need to tame the harsh output from those large horns. Not only restores the performance, this improves upon original fidelity providing a sweeter top end and much reduced midrange harshness that you may think was the amplifier. This is the value for most consoles - 4 horn Imperials use a 16uf as they cross over an octave lower. Just be sure to take photos of the crossover board as you must connect them right for the 12db/octave slope and proper attenuation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Generous help!I thought my KLH Model 6 tweeter was gone. Then I read it was probably the capacitor. I now how to put in a new tweeter but couldn't identify the bad capacitor. Matt in customer help identified it by picture. My speaker now works perfectly. Buying my capacitors at Parts Express was a pleasure!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fine and dandyReplaced this for old 8uf caps in crossovers for some big honking Genesis Physics III speakers from 1978. Not sure what more expensive caps would do, but they sound great now so very happy.

Dayton Audio DMPC-8.2 8.2uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor

Beginner question. Are these capacitors directional? I see no markings to indicate polarity.

Asked by: paulsartbarn
All capacitors are non-polar, except for the electrolytic caps with polarized markings.
