Dayton Audio DMPC-6.8 6.8uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor
Dayton Audio DMPC-6.8 6.8uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Suprising results. The rear speakers (Boston Acoustics) in a friends car had a typically cheapo x-o with iron core inductors and an electroylitic caps. One of the inductors broke loose and I suggested an upgrade instead of just a repair. We went with these caps and some Jantzen air core coils of the stock values. The results were dramatic. The speakers were transformed. I would use these caps for budget upgrade over electrolytics in a heartbeat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sound goodThese capacitors are a great replacement for capacitors in old speakers. They will make them sound much better. They aren't exactly cheap for capacitors but that's OK.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value for the priceI always turn to these capacitors. For the price, they deliver good performance in limiting the low frequency sound. The resulting higher frequencies come through clear and pure. When used together with an inductor, these offer a reliable way to tune your system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A big thumbs up from a skeptic...I had to replace a cap on my B&W speakers crossover so I figured why not spend a little (and I do mean a little) bit more for some poly caps. I figured that these would be more durable than the electrolytic bi-polars that where in there. Well, I gave the speakers a listen with the old caps on a really nice Count Basie (sp?) CD (I had replaced the blown cap with a stray electrolytic bi-polar). This helped me determine that the left and right sounded similiar. Then I updated one speaker and listened to them side by side. What a difference! The old speaker sounded like it had a mud filter on it while the newly upgraded one sounded much clearer in the higher frequencies!A worthy upgrade. Now I'm running around the house to see what other speakers I can upgrade.I've always enjoyed mid-high end (not esoteric$$) gear but have been skeptical about things like cables and caps. I'm convinced about caps; cables not so much so.

Dayton Audio DMPC-6.8 6.8uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor

would these be a suitable replacement or perhaps an upgrade for part number 027-336?

Asked by: traincole
Yes these will work fine as a replacement for that cap. Polys are generally considered upgrades from electrolytics although this will be subjective.
