Dayton Audio DMPC-15 15uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor
Dayton Audio DMPC-15 15uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor is rated 4.8235 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very accurateWhen measured I found the values of the two caps. to be the same as the stated value very rare in a "budget" cap.It is standard pratice to wind the caps a little short since most people expect caps to be sloppy but these were with in 1%.I bought these to make a Nobel compensation network for my Peerless Al. 6' woofers. Not only did the circuit, using information from this website, flatten out the fast rising upper midrange but it helped dampen the woofer in the upper bass/ low mid range area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than the spec saysI have installed many of these capacitors in several Crossover networks. They have always worked flawlessly and sound good. I recently measured the ESR and it is desirably low, as it should be for a good capacitor. Besides the price is RIGHT.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Greatly improves soundI have used Dayton Audio Caps on several speaker rebuilds and they always perform very well, brings old vintage speakers back to life. Good bang for the buck. The only issue I have with the caps is that the leads are always TOO SHORT, and sometimes trying to fit them into the space available is a real challenge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ExcellentDayton's 5% caps are much better than regular electrolytics and I honestly can't distinguish between these and 1% caps. Great quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent CapacitorI am using these in a prototype crossover system that I have been develpoing. I tried to go low cost because in development, components get changed a lot. These capacitors perform at a much higher level than expected. Smooth roll off, no spikes in the response, very linear. These caps perform at the same level as many of their far more expensive European counterparts. You'd have to go to film and foil to do better. Inexpensive doesn't always mean cheap. Thank you Parts Express!!!

Dayton Audio DMPC-15 15uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor

Just received my shipment of an order of caps.  In my error, I ordered 10uf instead of 15uf. What is the best way to do an exchange?  Or if I use the 10's, what effect will that have on the crossover? These are on vintage Pioneer CS88's

Asked by: guitardog13
You can contact our customer service departed if you would like to return them. The difference in value will depend on where the cap is in the system, unfortunately I cannot say when difference it will make. You can also order a pair of 5.1 uF caps and wire them in parallel with those 10's to make the proper value cap without spending money on shipping twice.

Using this capacitor with Dayton CE32A-8, where is this crossed?

I am planing to use the Dayton CE32A-8 and cross it pretty low. Will this capacitor cross the CE32A-8 around 900 Hz? Attempting to get rid of the bass and midrange frequencies.
Asked by: Grenadineflaps
Yes a 15 uF cap will cross this right around 1kHz.
