Dayton Audio DMPC-12 12uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor
Dayton Audio DMPC-12 12uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor is rated 4.625 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best capacitor for x-overs under $20Tried many other reasonably priced and even the higher 1%. All of them have been replaced with these. I just have a hard time believing that the cheapest Daytons are the best performers and my ears are pretty good. They sound great without break in, but do get better. They have an open airy sound that the more controlled mid-priced lack, but can be found in the much more expensive caps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good build qualityRe-capped a set of Polk 7b's with them.At first it was un-focused,then a few hours later it was very clean and detailed top end. This speaker is 30 yrs. old and sounds better than new. They should sound amazing after 50-100 hrs of burn in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tune up for some old speakersBought these to replace some tired caps in a pair of 35 year old Scott speakers. While slightly larger than the components they replaced, getting them installed was not a big deal. Although my hearing's not what it used to be, I detect a little less harshness in the high end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EPI RecapI used these to recap some EPI's. 3 pairs of 100's and a pair of 50's. They started out harsh, but burned in just a couple hours later. Work great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent performance for the price.I used these to rebuild a set of vintage 'New Large Advent' speakers, and really enjoy the sound. The only complaint I have is that the leads are way too short, I had some difficulty getting them installed because the leads would not reach to the solder points without relocating them from the original capacitor location.

Dayton Audio DMPC-12 12uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor

Would this cap work well as a first order high pass filter for a tweeter?

Asked by: DirtyDog
A cap alone will work as a high pass but you will want to use a smaller value depending on the impedance and low end capabilities of the tweeter itself.

Will these work as a replacement for a non-polarized cap in a crossover?

Replacing caps in an old Advent 1 crossover. Originals are 13 uf, 50 v. bi-polar. Will the Dayton Audio DMPC-12 12uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor work?
Asked by: liberty tom
Yes these will work as crossover caps, this is what they are designed for.
