Dayton Audio DMPC-100 100uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor
Dayton Audio DMPC-100 100uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor is rated 4.5714 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dayton Polypro CapsI bought five different size caps to recap my AR91 speakers. I chose the precision caps for the smaller values BUT there was no need as the 5% tolerance caps were all within 1%. I was amazed. My speakers sound great too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Capacitor!Bought 14 various values of the 5% metalized film caps offered from Parts Express to completely rebuild crossovers in KEF model 105's.They now sound MUCH BETTER! These are hi-quality! I gave them a 4.5 for performance, for if cost is no object in a project like this there is better for much more $$.This value is physically LARGE, so take that into consideration for fit!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Large Film CapIt's pretty rare to see film caps approach values this high. These give very good performance, and they're 20% the cost of some other high end brands. I'm currently using 4 as coupling caps in a balanced headphone amp.-Paul

Dayton Audio DMPC-100 100uF 250V Polypropylene Capacitor

can you combine film caps with electrolyic caps to reach required value?

due to lack of space I cannot use large film caps in combination to achieve a value of 500uf.Can I use a 400uf electrolytic and combine with a 100uf film cap? I would like to use this combination in a speaker crossover. Also will it provide better "sound" than with an electrolytic alone? Thanks
Asked by: Mike54
Electrolytics do not sound good. So combining them with poly is a great idea that saves money. Also in your case, using multiple caps will increase the current capacity making the crossover more stable - meaning it won't saturate as easily and will perform more linearly. First use high voltage caps. Try to have 50% be poly, but no less than around 25%.
