Dayton Audio DA270-8 10" Aluminum Cone Woofer
I want to get this subwoofer along with the 5 1/4'' and a tweeter and was wondering what would be a good crossover. I have another set of speakers with this crossover at the lowest possible frequency (375/3,000 Hz) and want something with a higher frequency and was wondering out of the Dayton audio assembled passive crossovers what would be a good 3-way to order?
I would recommend either of the two below.

Sealed vs. Ported?
I'm looking to pair this speaker with the morel MDT12. I think I can cross them at 2k. Looking to mimic a set of EPI 120B's...Aiside from that, I'm really having a hard time seeing if this specific woofer can be used effectively in a ported setup. Moreover, if anyone has had experience with this woofer in a sealed box vs a ported box.Can you provide input on this?
This driver is best suited for a sealed enclosure. A 2.25 ft3 box will give you an f3 of 45.72 Hz. This is going by the listed specs. I own 2 of these and they really sound great. However, I did not like them crossed high. I have them crossed around 500hz in a 3-way.

use for these in a 2-way
I see that these have a somewhat nasty peak 4.5k However they model very well in a large vented enclosure and seem as thought they would fill the bill for midbass / strings and the like. question is-> with a vifa d26tg-25-06 how does one blend them at 2.5k?? Please help as I am not able to post on the forum yet....
This would be a better choice of tweeter... it has an Fs: 880 Hzhttp://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-1022&FTR=d27tg-35-06
