Rated 3 out of 5 by from I have never heard a better pair of $35 speakers. As Billy Joel put it, "You get more mileage from a cheap set of speakers."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cheap but EffectiveGreat for the price. Bought an used Onkyo SRS receiver and these for my BR. Better than any soundbar. This is a great place forll your audion needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big sound for small speakersI've wanted to try these for a while. We recently discovered a large collection of old LP in the barn and wanted listen to them. Got a turntable and amp on ebay, but it mades more sense to get new speakers at this price. Very happy with them. They easily fill the corner of the barn where we exercise. Big sound for a small speaker. Maybe it is the fact that they are acoustic suspension. Seems 6.5" is about minimum for a decently big sound. These do the job with a vintage Kenwood amp and turntable. They do justice to the Beatles, Neil Young and Bob Dylan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great speakersI purchased these speakers about three weeks ago when they were on sale one weekend for $25.00, this is a great sounding speaker I actually bought them to use on my 5.1 surround sound system and they work perfect, the sound is way better than the small satellite speakers that came with my system, for the money you can't go wrong with this speaker great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for price but can be made better easilyOut of the box these sound so-so to ok, after playing for about 4 hours they sound better, then better again around 6-8 hours where they level off and more play time has little to no influence on sound quality. The tweeter is a little harsh, but that was easily cured for me by following another reviewers advice and replacing the blocking cap on the tweeter with a Dayton audio grade cap. Take note to check and see what value your speaker has since it seems that over the years it's changed some, one review said 3.3 and another 6.8, mine were 6.8. The same review that noted this also mentioned adding 2oz of Acousta-stuf per speaker which I have not done yet.Once they're all 'played in' bass is surprisingly punchy and once the cap is replaced the tweeters are very smooth with only slight harshness at extreme volume. Overall for $35 price point they're very good, better with some simple work, but for the $25 I paid on sale they're a steal!

Dayton Audio B652 6-1/2" 2-Way Bookshelf Speaker Pair

I have a thirty watt RMS Sansui receiver circa 1978. Will the Dayton Audio B652s be a good match?

Asked by: Don F
Yes these will work well with that amount of power.

I'm fairly new to buying speakers, but does the Dayton B652 support vinyl players? My vinyl has the stereo audio cables (red/white).

Asked by: JasonW00
These speakers require an amplifier in order to be played. The turn table will plug into a phono input on an amplifier, then the speakers are powered by the amp. We have a stereo receiver below that has a phono input.http://www.parts-express.com/sherwood-rx-4109-stereo-receiver--252-230

Using 2 B652's in series (one stacked on top of the other), should they be twtr. to twr. or woofer to woofer or both upright? They will be used with a 15" sub. Thanks

Asked by: CLB3
The best option is to have them stacked tweeter to tweeter in this case.

Has anyone replaced the B652 6.5" driver with a Pyramid WX65X 6-1/2"? Would it be an upgrade? I can't justify putting a $30+ driver into a $17. speaker.

Asked by: CLB3
The Pyramid will probably have a bit more sensitivity but it will not improve the low end at all. It depends on what you want from the upgrade specifically.

Would these speakers perform well as a rear surround set or would a specific rear surround speaker be better? I don't have a dedicated sub yet but I do own Klipsch floor speakers with dual 6 1/2"s which do fairly well with bass.

Asked by: griesmonkey
These make perfect surround speakers.

Does the Lepai amp in the last picture come with the speakers?

Asked by: Nedimus
There is no amplifier included with these speakers.
