Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Little SpeakerWhen I saw the e-mail asking for a review I thought why not. For the price these little speakers are a compliment to a system with large speakers. The tweeters are not bad. Good value for the buck. Going to put these on my desk. Around the same time I ordered, as part of a listening test etc, I ordered another similar pair from another competitor for around the same price. The quality of workmanship was poor. Components off center etc. So if you just want to be on a budget for this purchase these speakers will not disappoint. They are assembled well and look and sound great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent valueI bought these speakers with a Lepai amplifier to use with my computer. Much better than any computer speakers I've ever had.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really good for the priceHeard great things about the Dayton Audio B652 on head-fi and cnet. Also the price is really tempting so I ordered this. I have to say I'm really impressed. The speakers come with 2 wire cables so you can hook it up with an amplifier. I'm using a Onkyo Amp (can't remember the model) and it works perfectly.Pros: Bass is really present and you can feel it come out of the speakersCons: Treble and mids are kind of tamed. You can still hear it but not enoughAs I said above, bass is really the main focus I got when I turned them on. Not as clear as I liked them but still there. It is kind of hard to hear the treble and mids since the bass is overpowering. I had to adjust them on my amp just to bring the bass down. Now they sound better. If you're planning on buying this, remember that for the price, it is a good bookshelf speaker but if you are expecting something with great and detailed sound, this is not for you. They are more for listening casually or watching movies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice near field monitors for the priceThese speakers were a purchase after my old near field monitors (on my mixing desk) needed repair. I had read about these many times over the last few years and finally decided to buy them along with the Lepai LP-2020A (low power stereo amplifier). These speakers turned out to be much nicer sounding than I could have expected. With the speakers set on top of the desk and in close proximity to the back wall, the bass was a bit larger and boomier/muddier than I would like. However, with slight lowering of the bass frequencies (to compensate for poor placement) , the sound was quite nice; relatively flat across the spectrum. The stereo sound stage is wide and even with decent depth of field. For the price of a cheap dinner out, I have some very nice sounding computer recording speakers. Thanks PE!

Dayton Audio B652 6-1/2" 2-Way Bookshelf Speaker Pair

I have a thirty watt RMS Sansui receiver circa 1978. Will the Dayton Audio B652s be a good match?

Asked by: Don F
Yes these will work well with that amount of power.

I'm fairly new to buying speakers, but does the Dayton B652 support vinyl players? My vinyl has the stereo audio cables (red/white).

Asked by: JasonW00
These speakers require an amplifier in order to be played. The turn table will plug into a phono input on an amplifier, then the speakers are powered by the amp. We have a stereo receiver below that has a phono input.http://www.parts-express.com/sherwood-rx-4109-stereo-receiver--252-230

Using 2 B652's in series (one stacked on top of the other), should they be twtr. to twr. or woofer to woofer or both upright? They will be used with a 15" sub. Thanks

Asked by: CLB3
The best option is to have them stacked tweeter to tweeter in this case.

Has anyone replaced the B652 6.5" driver with a Pyramid WX65X 6-1/2"? Would it be an upgrade? I can't justify putting a $30+ driver into a $17. speaker.

Asked by: CLB3
The Pyramid will probably have a bit more sensitivity but it will not improve the low end at all. It depends on what you want from the upgrade specifically.

Would these speakers perform well as a rear surround set or would a specific rear surround speaker be better? I don't have a dedicated sub yet but I do own Klipsch floor speakers with dual 6 1/2"s which do fairly well with bass.

Asked by: griesmonkey
These make perfect surround speakers.

Does the Lepai amp in the last picture come with the speakers?

Asked by: Nedimus
There is no amplifier included with these speakers.
