Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Cheap SpeakersI've had a pair of these for about a year now. The first set I got were from teh bad batch. They were ear-bleading awful!! I e-mailed Dayton, and they had Parts Express send me a replacement set. The replacements were far better. As stated in my title; these are good cheap speakers. These should not be compared with high quality speakers in any way; they are budget speakers. But they really sound pretty decent, very good for the price. There is very much a need for inexpensive speakers that sound decent, and Dayton nailed it with these. If you want to put together a decent sounding system for the price of a meal, these will fill the bill. The weak link in these is the tweeter. It is somewhat tinny and harsh, and can be a bit shrill. Also, these speakers don't have a true crossover (just a capacitor in series with the tweeter), so it isn't as well balanced as higher priced speakers with a crossover network. There's also a bit of woofer breakup because of this. The speakers have a very noticeable peak somewhere around 3500 hz, which adds to the shrillness. To be fair, I am an audiophile and I am judging these with trained ears. As I mentioned above, these should not be compared with expensive speakers. For the price, they are quite phenomenal. Probably one of the best examples of bearable cheap speakers available. If you can afford better speakers, please buy them. If you can't, these will provide you with decent sounding music for a low price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these thingsI really like these speakers. They are awesome PC / computer speakers if an amp is added (PE Amp 320-332 is what I used) since they are nearfield in PC use, I think it helps them. One of my favorite speaker buys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can' beat 'em for the priceBought two pairs of these little Dayton speakers, awesome sound for 50 dollars a pair. Much better than putting out the money on boom box system ( I paired the speakers with a Pyle380AU amp.)So a total system of 200 dollars or so for use in my modeling room. The speakers are great I was worried about bottom end, but that is not a problem. I live in an apartment, and these things are the cats backside. All I can say is soooo, glad I went this route based only on reviews and did not opt for a boom box (would of not gotten sound any where nears as good for comparable price).Awesome little speakers for the price, nuff said.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sound bar solutionBought them for my neighbor to hook up to his older Technics receiver and using a digital/analog converter to a new LG TV. They sound great and better than a sound bar. The only thing missing is a subwoofer to get the extra low frequencies. He is very satisfied with the quality of sound. May have to buy the AMT version for more great sound!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everyone likes these speakersThese speakers seem to be the best known example of a new category in speakers, small speakers that have really good sound. I am very happy with the speakers that I bought. I am using them for two purposes, listening to classical music and watching a Samsung Smart TV. I did not audition the other speakers in the same price range that people recommend (Monoprice MBS-650 (8250)), but I am very happy with the B652. One suggestion (that may seem obvious), don't sit the speakers on the floor, as I did when they first arrived. I now have them hanging on the wall, and they sound MUCH better. There is a built in hanger that is very convenient. In short, I am very happy with them but I have no idea if there are similarly priced speakers that are better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Value LeaderUsing with a Lepai amp as computer speakers. For $60 it is pretty impressive. Excellent speaker for small listening area. Don't expect dynamic results at high volumes. But for low-med volume back ground music, they are outstanding. Sometimes can even make me drift off and just listen when a good tunes comes on Pandora. Can't image a better PC set-up for 3X the price.

Dayton Audio B652 6-1/2" 2-Way Bookshelf Speaker Pair

I purchased a Dayton Audio DTA-1 Class T Digital AC/DC Battery Powered Mini Amplifier 15 WPC Part #  300-380 Dayton Audio T-Amp and B652 Portable Speaker System  and need a small subwoofer to go with this system. What would you recommend?

Asked by: Bikerbiker
An excellent small sub that is on sale right now would be the Sub-800 from Dayton.http://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-sub-800-8-80-watt-powered-subwoofer--300-627

Hello, Looking forward to upgrading the b652 enclosure with some 1 inch round dowels, can you suggest what size to cut the dowels ?Also what glue do you  reccomend?

Asked by: BOBTEK
This is something you will have to measure properly in order to get the best results. Usually Titebond or Titebond II wood glue will work well for an application like this.

Will these out perform the hts-1200 surround speakers?

You'll get a slightly lower frequency response with the Dayton B652 speakers but other than size they are comparable.

I would like to know if these speakers would be a good replacement for my cube speakers that came with the Bose AM3 speaker system?

Asked by: L Coop
As long as the amplifier you are currently using will handle a 6 ohm load these will work, although we cannot directly compare them to the Bose. In my personal opinion they will be an improvement.

Hi ther, A month back, I purchased a pair of these B652 speakers from you. I have been using them with my Topping TP20-MK2 MKII TA2020 Class T-AMP. The sound is clear but not loud. Can you please recommend me an alternative amp for my B652s?
