Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I neededI purchased this product to replace my old cig lighter plug which cracked. I am very pleased with this new cig plug. It is better than the original. It was easy to solder and works fine. I used it on my auto air compressor and it is just what I needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am VERY empressedI am currently manufacturing out of my work shop. For my first production run, I purchased a hundred of the Cigarette Lighter Plugs with LED for my Patent Pending submersible LED fishing light. It requires 20 feet of lead wire with Lighter Plugs attached at one end.For the sake of time management and efficiency, I completely disassembled (very easy) every one and separated each part into separate trays. I recognized the LED Lighter Plug was consistent, uniform in design, and all the parts are interchangeable. This eliminated my concern for reassembling as a mix and match (very easy).FOR THOSE WHO MANUFACTURE.With my hands free lighted 30x magnify glass, portable filtration unit (evacuates solder fumes) variable temperature soldering station, Solder 60/40 Tin/Lead, I went to work.First, I tinned ( 490 degrees) ALL of the Led Lighter Plugs.Second, set the soldering iron at 600 degrees. As I tinned each lead wire, I then place (first) the positive lead wire on the Led Plug Lighter contact (The "top" terminal which is connected to the resistor, the small tan colored part with stripes).Place the tip of the solder iron over the lead wire to heat and fuse the lead wire and Led Plug Lighter contact together,(same temperature 600 degrees). I solder all of the Led Lighter Plugs before the next step.Third, reassemble all the Led Lighter Plugs. That It!PSThere was NOT ONE defective Led Lighter Plug.

Cigarette Lighter Plug with LED

How do you attatch - & + wires in the plug?

Both - & + contacts in the plug are wired together.
Asked by: gpfsr
Please refer to the photo I've attached below. The terminals are not wired together, they should most definitely be de-coupled, although it may not be obvious at first glance. The "top" terminal which is connected to the resistor (the small tan colored part with stripes) is your positive terminal. The "lower" terminal which is connected directly to the LED is the negative. The circuit with the resistor and the LED is there to activate the LED indicator when current is applied to the device. When power is disengaged, the LED will not light.
