Cast Frame #10-32 Speaker Mounting Kit
Cast Frame #10-32 Speaker Mounting Kit is rated 3.8571 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked PerfectlyReplaced the speaker in an old Fender Sidekick 15" bass cab and these were a perfect match.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I agree with previous reviewer: use glueI wish I had read the reviews before trying to use these. I found that the bolts are just slightly too big in diameter, like by the thickness of the anodized coating, and they cause the bolt to catch with enough pressure to pull the t-nut teeth out (of MDF, in my case) if you go too fast. Cement the bolts in as the other poster suggested or else use very, very little torque on your screwdriver when driving the bolts. Or, purely conjecture, maybe pre-mating the bolt and nut would strip enough of the anodizing (anodizement?) off the bolt to make it not catch.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great Way To Ruin A BoxThese are great if you want to ruin your box. They're very effective at stripping MDF and getting cross threaded. It's especially nice when you use these once your box is all glued together, because then you have to ditch the entire box. I highly recommend them if you like wasting time and money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just used hex capsHex caps works excellent. Size is perfect. I have 1" hex caps but the 1.5" is better to work with when mounting and unmounting the driver in the enclosure.I used H-nuts instead of T-Nuts. But for H-Nuts make sure to use a good quality Super Glue; otherwise will get loose.

Just curious what size hole to drill for these.

Asked by: raidercrazy88
These require a 1/4" hole for mounting.

Will this be suitable for speakers, part number 264-918?

Asked by: Array
Tang Band claims the mounting hole diameter is 5mm, the diameter of the #10 screw is ~4.8mm so it will be close but these should work without a problem.

minimum baffle thickness?

going to use 1/2 inch mdf mounting 8 inch dvc woofer (below) are these too long/big for that?
Asked by: Dave B
The length of the unthreaded shaft is 1/4" so these will work fine for your application.

What 's the diameter of a "10"?

Is a 10 larger than 1/4"?(I'm looking for a hex head to fit the 5.5mm holes specified by Dayton for the RSS315HF-4).(Interesting that the HO version of this driver specifies 6.5mm holes.)Thanks!
Asked by: TShifrin
A #10 is smaller than a 1/4"screw. In terms of dimensions, the head diameter of these is just under 8 mm, while the shaft diameter is about 4.5 mm. On a baffle, I often drill holes larger than 4.5 mm. Then I use a 6 mm (inner diameter) washer that allows for play in the larger hole, while still covering it.
