Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly good results on wheel wellsI first used this product on the inside of a subwoofer box and it appeared to produce good dampening results, but it was difficult to tell for sure without having an untreated unit for comparison.I have since been trying soundproof my new Elantra which was in dire need of dampening. I had used a vinyl barrier on the floors and also butyl dampening sheets on the front door panels which reduced the road noise by about 3 decibels, but it was still rather noisy on rough pavement. I read mixed reviews on the effectiveness of treating the wheel wells. After months of second guessing myself I finally decided to give the Cascade Quiet Kote a try. It took a while to tape off the car body since the stuff is kinda messy and you don't want to get it on the paint or rims. I was very sceptical as to whether it would really work. If you plan to use this product for wheel well application make sure you protect the holes in the wheel wells that are for drainage and also the screws used to secure it to the fender, since this stuff will seal it off as it dries making access difficult. I waited a day for it to dry, and then took my car for a spin. I was AMAZED at the reduction in road noise and vibration. I estimated at least another 3 decibel reduction. It feels much more like a luxury car now with superior damping. Definitely recommended. I used 2 cans to give a pretty thick coat. I wish I had applied it to the floors before adding the vinyl dampening barrier, but I can't really see it getting much quieter, maybe I will for a future project. For now, I'm very pleased as I can listen to my music rather than fighting the road noise.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good product to spray when you cannot get into those tight spots. This is a very good product, when you have limited space to get your hands into to lay down Dynamat or similar products. Plus side its easy to apply and recoat. I dont know if this is a minus maybe worst than a minus, but the smell is horrible. So plan accordingly its taken about 3 weeks for the smell to died down. You have to put down at least three to four coats to get adequate sound dampening. Once cured you can tell the difference. I messured 90 db at highway speeds. Once applied and cured, I measured 85 db. So the stuff works just dont know about the smell.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use and good fill in productSprays on easy and Provides a nice even coat.I used it for my fiberglass subwoofer enclosure and it helped to get rid of the ringing sound of the enclosureSaved a lot of time. Good for hard to reach places. Most of the smell goes away after it dries. It dried rather quickly, considering I used it in the winter.Overall good product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A little pricey but good stuffThis is all I use on my cars. It works incredibly well. Don't believe what Landon Wing said about it not coming off. It comes off very easily with Toluene, which is clearly written on the cans label. We sprayed the undercarriage and inside the doors and the car is now much quieter. Other than the price it's great stuff.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't bother with Wal-mart trunk liner...This stuff just works! Unfortunately, I rant out, and in an effort to save time and money, I bought some cheap, rubberized sound deadener from my local Kragen auto parts store: There IS a night and day difference between Casade Audio's Quiet Kote and the cheap stuff. For one, Quiet Kote sticks to whatever, whenever, forever. That's right: Mask good, because it ain't coming off! Let me reiterate that: It IS NOT coming off so says the 80 grit sand paper that tried to sand it off. The "cheap" stuff will usually just scrape off with a finger nail. +1 Quiet Kote.Second, no primer is required. See the above note about a finger nail and the "cheap" stuff. Had I used a primer, it might (big maybe!) have stuck. Still, it's impressive that Quiet Kote sticks to whatever surface without the extra step of a primer.Third, it's the only liquid deadener I've come across that will stick to fiberglass without a primer.Lastly, it just works. I applied it to the outside/backside of a fiberglass enclosure, installed fiberglass to sheet metal, right up against the back cab wall of a Ford Ranger, and there were ZERO rattles, and zero unwanted vibration.Because it doesn't come off at all, I wouldn't recommend using this stuff to deaden a car door: if it got of your window, you've just permanently tinted your windows. :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I'd tell ya what. This stuff works. I can't put any other way. I sprayed all over the inside of my trunk took out the lining the tail light covers and everything inside the trunk. Vacuumed it out washed the inside with some soap and water not to get any of the electrical components wet and rinsed it out with plain ol' water it took two cans to get the sides and bottom of my 04 grand am and it still could go for one more coat on the sides and another on the trunk lid but for the most part it spread out pretty good I'm not even kidding you I swear to whomever it made a difference. Thats all there is to it.

It says this product is for outdoor use only. If this product is sprayed on speaker cabinets outdoors, can they be brought inside after a weak or 2 of curing, or will this continue to off gas vapors?

Asked by: djverne
I actually used this product several years ago for this purpose. Applying it in a ventilated area is required, but after a week or two to cure there will be very little stray odor.

I have a noisy dish washer with a plastic tub. IS VB1s-PRO compatible with plastics so that it does not degrade the plastic. Also is it compatible with temperatures up to 212 deg. F.?

Asked by: samstock19
We would not recommend this for high heat applications since the product can produce fumes due to outgassing.
