Product Details

Bravo Audio Tube Guitar Boost Effect and Overdrive

The Booster is a device that connects between your pickup-equipped stringed instrument and either directly to your output stage amplifier, to the next effects processor, or to another amplifier (not a headphone amplifier) that will further process the input signal. Its sole method of amplification is via a single Shuguang 12AU7 vacuum tube--that's it. The simple and elegant design uses only three knobs: one for volume, one for gain, and one for tone.

One really nice thing about the Bravo Audio Tube Booster is its flexiblility in usage. Combining different levels on two of the knobs can result in a variety of effects. 50% volume and minimum gain gives you the classic, clean, rounded tube sound most of us "HeadPhile" enthusiasts all know and love. Maximum volume and minimum gain results in a volume boost to prepare the signal for further amplification or for feeding into a distortion or multi-effects device. 50% volume and maximum gain give you a nice, moderately face-melting, distorted, overdrive sound. Maximum volume and gain combine the two previously-mentioned effects.

Includes universal / international 12 VDC switching power supply and power cable. 1/4" (6.35mm) mono input and output jacks.

Bravo Audio Tube Guitar Boost Effect and Overdrive
Bravo Audio Tube Guitar Boost Effect and Overdrive is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Your secret weapon! This little gadget is easily the least-understood piece of gear I've ever encountered. Yes, there are certain limitations (i.e.: it's not a pedal, therefore it lacks a footswitch), but in all, I've never heard anything like it.We all know the definition of "overdrive", right?Wait! Before you answer, it's NOT distortion!A somewhat distorted sound is predictable and, in most cases desirable in an overdrive unit. However, distortion is actually a by-product of true overdrive.Overdrive is what you get when you positively BLAST your tube amplifier. That's it. It's not merely distortion of your signal, but rather an eruption of tonal color and real snap-crackle-pop which can only truly be achieved through pushing your amp to 11. There's extra compression there, as well as an enhanced level of "that certain something" that only a dimed tube amp can deliver.Okay. There's distortion too. Don't worry.Trouble is, most of us rank-n-file-types can't really do that. Ever tried to crank that Twin Reverb to the rafters? It sounds really wonderful, but unless you're playing Madison Square Garden or Red Rocks, nobody will survive to talk about it. Hearing-loss and internal bleeding may also be a factor.Add things like neighbors, babies or day-sleepers to the equation and suddenly "real overdrive" is quite out of reach. Even your gig down at the local pub would be ruined.Enter the Bravo Audio Tube Boostery-thingy! With it, these naturally-occurring effects happen at much more human levels. However, don't worry about really pushing it too! Turn up all you want and the Tube Boost will open up whole new worlds of tonal coloration."Why would I get this thing when I already have the best overdrive pedal in the world?!" ::::Insert product names here::::Well, this happy little gizmo is not meant to replace anything, but rather to work in concert with whatever your rig already holds. You turn it on and leave it on.When you start with a naturally overdriven sound, all your effects sound about three-hundred-and-sixty-seven times MORE BETTER-ER! Even modulation effects and ambients! True story! Trust me! If you like that Tube Screamer now, just try it through one o' these babies and you'll never look back.

Can I

Can I have this between my guitar and Amp/speaker combo? The amp is an epiphone all in one amp slash speaker box.
Asked by: firemanstep
Yes you can. You can have your guitar volume at 1/2 to 3/4 for clean sound then punch it to full for that nasty tube overload distortion that gets attention. Great for sustain as well.

Which jack (J2 or J3) is the input for the Bravo Audio tube guitar booster (#310-358)? Neither jack is labeled.?

Also, this item is listed as having a 24VDC power supply. It does NOT. The power supply is only 12VDC.
Asked by: Stephen6760
Found the answer. Jack J2 is the input.
