BOSS R6002 RIOT 1200 Watt 2 Channel MOSFET Car Audio Amplifier

If you're still using your head unit for amplification, you have no idea what you're missing! Head units are often unable to provide the loud, dynamic sound you want, and can distort (or even damage) your speakers at even medium volume levels.

That's where the BOSS RIOT Series of amplifiers comes in. Tried-and-true Class AB amplifier topology, 2-ohm stable (for powering a pair of 4-ohm speakers off a single channel), and way more than enough power for even the hungriest door, dash, or deck speaker. The R6002 can also be set up for 2.1 (tri-mode) use to power a pair of stereo speakers and a mono subwoofer (passive crossover values are listed in the manual).

BOSS built the RIOT Series amplifiers with advanced features that are usually associated with amplifiers at more than twice the price: thermal and short circuit protection, soft turn-on circuit, remote turn-on/off, nickel-plated low-level and high-level inputs, LED power and protection indicators, all housed in a stealth black anodized aluminum chassis.

The R6002 also includes a MOSFET PWM power supply (for 4-ohm bridged-mono operation), a variable 35 to 160 Hz low-pass crossover, selectable fixed 80 Hz high-pass crossover, a variable 0 to 18 dB bass boost, and a remote subwoofer level control for dialing in the perfect amount of bass from the driver's seat. Mounting hardware included.

Specifications: • Power output: 2 x 200W RMS (@ 4 ohms), 2 x 600W max (@ 2 ohms), 1 x 1200W max (4 ohms bridged-mono) • Frequency response: 9 to 50,000 Hz • Signal-to-ratio: >102 dB • Total harmonic distortion: 0.01% @ RMS power output • Damping factor: >125 • Dimensions (L x H x W): 10.43" x 2.25" x 12.36".

I have 2 12 in lanzar vw12d 800rms dual voice coil 4 ohm subs will this amp work

Asked by: justin246
This can certainly drive them but may not reach full output. That may depend on enclosure design though.

If I have two subs that are 875 peak and 175 rms at 4 oms will this amp work and I would have to wire it at 2 oms right

Asked by: dualxterra
Yes this amplifier will work for those. The amp is not 2 ohm stable in bridged mode to you will have to run one sub on each channel at 4 ohms.

How would you hook up a r6002 At 2 ohms

Asked by: red one
This amplifier is only stable to 2 ohms in stereo mode. In order to have a 2 ohm load, your speakers would have to be rated for 2 ohms on each channel.

I order the r6002 for 2 kicker cvt12 subs which are rated at 4ohm. I now realize that the amp is only 200w at 4ohms. Can I bridge it and wire in series to supply more power to the subs? 200w seems awfully underpowered for the 400w rms subs

Asked by: preem2012
Unfortunately bridging the amplifier will only provide the same amount of power to each subwoofer since they would have to be wired in series. 200 watts RMS will be all that is available to a pair of subs into a 4 ohm load with this amp, but still should be enough for most applications. Just because a sub is rated for 400 watts RMS doesn't mean it has to have that much power.
