BOSS R1004 RIOT 400 Watt 4 Channel Car Audio Amplifier

If you're still using your head unit for amplification, you have no idea what you're missing! Head units are often unable to provide the loud, dynamic sound you want, and can distort (or even damage) your speakers at even medium volume levels.

That's where the BOSS RIOT Series of amplifiers comes in. Tried-and-true Class AB amplifier topology, 2-ohm stable (for powering a pair of 4-ohm speakers off a single channel), and way more than enough power for even the hungriest door, dash, or deck speaker.

BOSS built the RIOT Series amplifiers with advanced features that are usually associated with amplifiers at more than twice the price: thermal and short circuit protection, soft turn-on circuit, remote turn-on/off, nickel-plated low-level and high-level inputs, LED power and protection indicators, all housed in a stealth black anodized aluminum chassis. Mounting hardware included.

Specifications: • Power output: 4 x 50W RMS (@ 4 ohms), 4 x 100W max (@ 2 ohms) • Frequency response: 12 to 22,000 Hz • Signal-to-ratio: 90 dB • Total harmonic distortion: 0.01% @ RMS power output • Dimensions (L x H x W): 9" x 2.0625" x 10.625".

How many fuses and what are the ratings of ALL of the fuses in this amp?

Asked by: cwhite
This has one 15A fuse.

What gauge power wire does this require and what kind of draw would this be on a motorcycle charging system< Would there be a heat issue if mounted in a saddle bag>

Asked by: Rich from Adrian
The fuse in the amplifier is rated for 15 amps, so a continuous draw would be less than this. Heat will be determined by the impedance load on the amplifier. If 4 ohm speakers are used on each of the channels the amplifier should only get warm to the touch. I would recommend 8 gauge power cable for this.

what type of wiring comes with this amp

Asked by: Tonylock9
This amp does not include any wiring for power or for signal, it only includes 4 mounting screws and the high level input adapter harness.

I was looking to power 2 6x9s that were given to me. They say 100 watt RMS at 4ohms each. What would be best

Asked by: Alex662
Any 2-channel car amplifier that is between 75-125 watts RMS at 4 ohms will work for this application.

As usual, power ratings? How likely are they to be correct? Similar rated amps from other manufacturers go for 4x as much, any thoughts/experiences with the brand? I'm looking to power two 6x9's and a single 12" sub. How well would this work?

Asked by: JoeKewl
This will work well for powering full range speakers but may be lacking a little in terms of powering a subwoofer.
