Bluetooth v4.0 Audio Receiver Board aptX +EDR 12 VDC

Choose this Bluetooth 4.0 receiver module for adding wireless Bluetooth functionality to nearly any device: active speakers, powered subwoofers, vintage stereo receivers, as well as desktop and laptop computers for streaming music from your smartphone or tablet.

Built on a Bluetooth v4.0+ EDR platform, this module features aptX® decoding for a wider frequency response of 16 Hz to 20 kHz, better fault tolerance and lower latency over older Bluetooth versions, and better overall sound quality. Secure simple pairing (SSP) improves the pairing experience between Bluetooth devices, while increasing security, and reduced power consumption in low-power mode. Class 2 reception allows for up to 10 meters (33 ft.) of reception, line of sight, while total harmonic distortion is ≤0.5%.

This receiver board also features high quality X7R ceramic capacitors, lower ESR electrolytic capacitors, and separate power chips for the input and output sections to virtually eliminate RF and digital signal interference.

A 2.1 x 5.5 mm DC power input jack is provided for quick, simple connection to many common 12 VDC power supplies (minimum recommended current capacity is 1A, such as the one in the Related Products section). Audio is output via stereo RCA jacks and a stereo 3.5 mm jack, and this module can act as a headphone amplifier for efficient headphones, in-ear headphones, and earbuds. When paired to a Bluetooth device volume is controlled by the source device, such as a tablet or smartphone. Dimensions: 3" L x 2" W.

Note: This device only receives stereo Bluetooth audio. This device does not transmit a Bluetooth signal. Ground loops can occur when using a grounded power source. Please see the Related Items section for the Axxess 3.5 mm ground loop isolator to solve this issue if it occurs.

Bluetooth v4.0 Audio Receiver Board aptX +EDR 12 VDC
Bluetooth Audio Receiver Board v2.1+EDR 12 VDC is rated 4.2143 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well. Zero InstructionsThis unit was a great way to add BT to my stock OEM audio in my truck. The cool thing is it comes on when you hit it with power - so no buttons to press to activate. Just switch head unit to Aux and you are good to go. What is not super clear is this pairs music and voice profiles on the phone and since it came with zero instructions its not clear what kind or wiring of microphone it will take. Is the jack port between the RCA's the microphone. I don't want voice so I am not that bothered. Obviously if you are buying this item you are not afraid to experiment, but be prepared that you will have to.Audio quality for content at bitrate 128k and up is very good. Better than the DAC in the cellphone hooked to the same aux directly with a wire.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well...So far no problems with this device. I'm using it for a small portable speaker i built that has two Dayton s100 4" full ranger drivers in it. This is my first speaker build so all of this is new to me. However, my only gripe is that the range is short and I need to keep my iPhone within 10ft of the BT module.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy BluetoothI purchased this Bluetooth receiver for a custom portable speaker install. It works great and is very easy to install. Just add power and hook up RCA outputs. It connects just like any other Bluetooth device. The sound is very clear and I didn't notice any distortion or clarity problems that others have described in the reviews.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from muddie soundReceived this board today and installed it in my boom box, easy to set up, pairs easily, but the sound is very muddy. I am streaming from a kindle fire HDX to the bluetooth board and the sound is not very pleasing. I have the Lepai 2020 amp and the sound direct thru a cable is exceptional but using bluetooth mode the sound is just fair. Even my wife commented on how muddy the sound was. Hopefully in the future parts-express will add a board with the latest generation bluetooth.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice unit after a few upgrades. This is a nice little bluetooth board, but needed a few upgrades to work well.1. Had some ground loop feedback. "Fixed" it with 4000uf @ 16v worth of capacitance on the 12v input. This is temporary until I can design one made to filter the specific noise. Mods aren't pretty, but functional.2. Bluetooth range was terrible. Would barely make it though one stud/sheetrock wall about 10-15feet. Cut the antenna and soldered on 30mm of solid copper from cat3 wire and now it's pretty solid across the house easily up to 30 feet. iphone 4 had better bluetooth reception than ipad mini retina. ipad mini retina had to be horizontal to not cut in and out. Must be antenna orientation. Original antenna trace on board looks like about 45mm, but used 30mm from some guide on instructables.3. Definitely needed some EQ on the amp side. I had it hooked up to a lepai 2020A+ with some some no name speakers in a funky tube I built, or Pyle PCA3 and a set of polk monitors 30BII with KSW12 sub and both need a bump in the bass and treble to sound good. Streaming iTunes radio, my untrained ears think that streaming straight from PC to the PCA3 combo sounds better that ipad over bluetooth. Haven't tried flat EQ or bypass on amps with ipad's internal EQ, but I no reason to since amps EQ sound just fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Case as an enclosure! This Bluetooth wireless receiver works great with my Samsung Galaxy tablet. I just click on sound choose "Sure" and my tablet music player is heard through my sound system. Seems to stay connected even when separated by a household wall too. The board is supplied in a small, black and sturdy card board jewelry box. I mounted the board in the box with some screws and punched holes for the wiring and a fast easy enclosure is created. I placed it behind my receiver. Sound is good, but does not compare to CD quality, but that may be the MP-3 file, or the music player itself. I used the recommended power pack as well. Overall very happy with the purchase.

Do you have a case for this board? I do not want to leave the components exposed.

Asked by:
We do not have a case specifically made for it, but we have plenty of project boxes that you could modify to work well.http://www.parts-express.com/search.aspx?N=4294967118+4294965157&Nrs=collection%28%29%2Frecord%5Bendeca%3Amatches%28.%2C%22P_PortalID%22%2C%221%22%29+and+endeca%3Amatches%28.%2C%22P_Searchable%22%2C%221%22%29%5D&Ntt=project*+box*&PortalID=1

Hi On your high end bluetooth receiver Bluetooth v4.0 Audio Receiver Board aptX +EDR 12 VDC will this still work if its built inside of an amp chassis? Am trying to figure out just how to do this and make it work. Rich

Asked by: Rich5
As seen here you can solder a wire on the Bluetooth antenna on the board. You will need to scrape the coating off the Bluetooth antenna to be able to solder a wire onto it. Don't worry about the length of the wire. The main purpose is to get the wire into the open like on the front of whatever cabinet you are using or behind a speaker grill. Also by using a separate power supply or (battery) you will totally avoid the ground loop problem. I hope this helps.

I've noticed that this board leaks pretty substantial 'digital' noise onto the power rails. I've added a 6800uF capacitor physically close to the board across the power rails, but the noise is still quite noticeable. Is there a better way to solve this?

Asked by: EasyE
If you are using the same power supply for the amp you will get noise. The best way is for this device to have its own power supply. That's what I have had to do to isolate the noise issue.  I Hope this helps.

When I pair this to my iPhone or iPads  the volume is very loud at the lowest setting. If I switch back to aux the volume is low. Can anyone explain or tell me how to fix this issue where the volume is too loud at the lowest setting with paired device?

Is it possible to rename device name?  I need that people see my brand name while conneting to my sound device.
