Blue LED 8.5-30 VDC Panel Meter with Auto Brightness
Blue LED 8.5-30 VDC Panel Meter with Auto Brightness is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mine is not that goodI bought this meter to put in the front panel of my Astron RS-35A, after a very hard time cutting out the panel on that Astron to the size of the case of the meter, I found it had to be even wider to accommodate the cheesy clips on each side, just cut the clips off and used a hot glue gun to seal the meter in, once installed I set the voltage to 30.80 volts, the meter now jumps between 30.80 and 30.72 for a constant output read by another digital meter of 30.78 volts , mine is not that good

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Blue LED panel meterThe display is large bright , and easy to read. The only problem Is , it is difficult to mount flush into a thick surface,Works best when used on a thin panel , less than 1/8" or sheet metal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great voltmeter! This voltmeter lives up to it's description! It's easily visible in all lighting levels and truly doesn't use much current as my battery would show 12.74 volts in early evening and the next morning the voltage has not dropped at all. The unit doesn't feel warm to the touch at all, which also confirms the very low power consumption of this voltmeter. I'm extremely happy with it and the pricing of it as well.

Is there anyway to dim the LED's w/o lowering Input power?

Asked by: SteveD
The only way i could think of is to add resistors to the LED back-light, witch would require disassembling the display.

Does this always stay on?

I bought these to hook directly to my amplifier to monitor the voltage the amp is seeing, but this cannot be done since it seems to always stay on, which I do not want.
Asked by: Zookz
You do have the option of putting a spst switch in series with the red lead, and turn it on when you want to check the voltage. Otherwise, you could build a switching circuit to turn it on and off at regular intervals. This option could end up costing more than the meter itself. I have several meters of a similar type, (thermometer and different voltage meters), and I was amazed at how quickly I started to ignore them, and make myself look for them to read them.

Is the face (display side) waterproof?

Thank you!
Asked by: Chinpokumon
The sensors are water-resistant, but to my knowledge, the display is not.
