Is there anyway to dim the LED's w/o lowering Input power?
The only way i could think of is to add resistors to the LED back-light, witch would require disassembling the display.

Does this always stay on?
I bought these to hook directly to my amplifier to monitor the voltage the amp is seeing, but this cannot be done since it seems to always stay on, which I do not want.
You do have the option of putting a spst switch in series with the red lead, and turn it on when you want to check the voltage. Otherwise, you could build a switching circuit to turn it on and off at regular intervals. This option could end up costing more than the meter itself. I have several meters of a similar type, (thermometer and different voltage meters), and I was amazed at how quickly I started to ignore them, and make myself look for them to read them.

Is the face (display side) waterproof?
The sensors are water-resistant, but to my knowledge, the display is not.
