Product Details

BIC Venturi DV84 8" Tower Speaker Black

The DV84 towers are "star performers" for both music and video. They can be used in the front and rear channels of a home theater system. Like the DV64's, the DV84's are an excellent match to our highly acclaimed DV62CLR-S center speaker. Their active dual 8" woofers provide even greater output than the DV64 towers. Their dual 8" passive radiators provide extra low bass extension. Like the DV64's, the DV84 towers have MDF cabinets and are video shielded. 7 year parts and labor.

BIC Venturi DV84 8" Tower Speaker Black
BIC Venturi DV84 8" Tower Speaker Black is rated 4.8333 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from WooooooW!These are amazing! The lows, highs and mids are all there. I just moved into my first home and was able to have REAL speakers(I had logitech computer speakers before, YUCK). Now I have two of these, plus other items from parts-express, and all I can say is WOW! This is how music is meant to be heard! Don't pass these babies up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How does BIC America do it?I recently had to replace my beloved old DCM KX-12s in our theater, and I decided, with help from Parts Express' great staff, on these DV84 towers. I couldn't believe my ears, but they're better than the old DCMs! I never thought I'd hear the day when they'd be outdone. And the price for these? I recently bought one of BIC's F-12 subs too...I think I'm going all BIC for the theater room now. I don't know how they do it, and the prices...wow. Impressed, I am. These DV84s are crisp and clear, and deep. Surprisingly deep, which is what I wanted! Great sound, and I'm very picky about sound and music/movie audio production.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW!I bought these speakers because I wanted a quality sound system for my room, I had no idea these speakers would almost match my parents $1,500 system. The only thing they have on these bad boys is a sub that cost as much as both these speakers combined! Even then these speakers still produce plenty of bass for 90% of people in nearly any situation and to add a really nice sub to top these guys off wouldn't set you back much. Honestly though I doubt you'll need to purchase one. The 84's produce great vocals, mid, high, and low ranges. For the price you would be hard pressed to find anything to match their sound. If you are on a budget do yourself a favor and purchase these today, trust me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All BIC now!First purchased the DV 64's for surrounds - impressed. Next added the DV62-CLR-S center - impressed again. Finally added the DV 84's for mains - totally impressed with all of my BIC speakers! Excellent sound, appearance, value!.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bargain Tower Speakers...with quality! My girlfriend and I decided to build our first Hi-Fi. After using some Logitech 2.1s for about a year, it just seemed right to upgrade to more serious sound. I have yet to break these in fully, but first impressions are still great.Auditioning these with Star Wars: A New Hope Blu-Ray is an absolute treat. The constant rumbling FX are very articulate, and the passive radiators lend to very deep bass response. Voices are crystal clear. Although the tweeters are a tad bit harsh, I'm sure this will change as the speakers break in. Mids are great, and these towers have a very full sound across the spectrum.Music is brilliant through these as well. I have several sources I used to test, notably Camille Saint-Saëns’ Symphony No. 3 on Boston Audio Society Test CD-1. Absolutely insane experience, and these towers do very well as far as bass extension during this tune.Build Quality is superb as well and I feel confident these will last us a very long time. When they do give out, I would purchase them again or whatever BIC offerings are if/when the time comes. No grill rattling whatsoever. I would've liked to seen some better feet preinstalled, rather than DIY adhesive rubber nubs. At the price point BIC offers these, it's really not a big deal. The cabinets are heavy and do not slide or wobble on our carpet floors at all.Overall, these are beautiful, articulate, and massive sounding towers. They fill a room (or entire apartment) with ease and don't take a lot of power to drive, although they can handle quite a bit of watts thrown at them. If you are considering these, don't hesitate! I would rate these much higher than similar towers at the same price point.I would suggest these to any and all friends in a heartbeat. This a stunning way to get into Hi-Fi and HT if you're on a budget, and Parts-Express is very prompt and reliable. This being our first purchase, I was shocked to receive these in 2 days via FedEx (for an extra 5 bucks), and they came in flawless condition.Note: I will be doing a follow up review and video review after about 100 hours of logged playtime. I am using a JVC RX-555BK stereo receiver and flat EQ settings at the time. Audio is taken from a Xonar DG soundcard from my PC and LG BD670 Blu-Ray player for movies.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very pleasantly surprisedI purchased these in lieu of MartinLogan Motion 12's. I was kicking myself for not getting the MartinLogan's but then I listened to these and before any kind of break in or anything else, these sound very good. Very comparable to the MartinLogan's that I listened to at the Magnolia showroom at Best Buy. They can play down pretty low which makes it a cinch to tune your setup with your subs and such. I'm running these with 2 Bic America F12's and the bass response is pretty insane. The midrange could be better, but the DV84's do a great job.

BIC Venturi DV84 8" Tower Speaker Black

Would these be ok to run 3 off for LCR? or should i get the DV62 centre? These will be hidden behind a screen. Alternatively 3 x Bic FH-6T or matching centre. Setup will be for 100% movies only.

Asked by: brendab21
Either option will work, personally I would use three towers.

What Amp would you recommend for these?

Can anyone recommend an affordable amp that would match these? I am looking for the most balanced sound possible.
Asked by: John R.
Hello John. I truly appreciate this forum, courtesy of Parts Express, facilitating an exchange of thoughts, recommendation, and education. As relates to your query, before I, or others offer advice, it would be helpful to know the room size/dimensions, the components you own, listening habits, and your ultimate goals. For example, were these speakers to be incorporated in a basic stereo configuration, in a very large room, suggestions may be different vs a home theater application in a small apt.. Ultimately, the factory sensitivity is stated as 90db, which is reasonably sensitive, requiring less power to achieve a given sound level. Upon answering the above questions, it will be easier to offer suggestions. Thanks....

Can banana connectors be used on these speakers?

Asked by: bjlracer
No. I have a pair of these and you have to attach the wire through a hole in the binding post. It is pretty roomy though - I use 10 gauge wire and it went in the post just fine.

It's rumored that these use peerless drivers. Can anyone confirm this? Preferably with a link to more info. Thanks!

Asked by: chanoman
I can neither confirm nor deny the rumor you've heard. BIC may or may not be willing to divulge such information, you can reach them at 1-877-558-4242.
