BIC Venturi DV84 8" 2-Way Tower Speaker Black

The DV84 towers are "star performers" for both music and video. They can be used in the front and rear channels of a home theater system. Like the DV64's, the DV84's are an excellent match to our highly acclaimed DV62CLR-S center speaker. Their active dual 8" woofers provide even greater output than the DV64 towers. Their dual 8" passive radiators provide extra low bass extension. Like the DV64's, the DV84 towers have MDF cabinets and are video shielded. 7 year parts and labor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing better!!!I bought these speakers last December and haven't regretted it one bit. These are by far some of the nicest sounding speakers I've owned, and I've owned plenty. Who ever gives these speakers a review under 5 stars has no idea what they are doing. I've put these up against a pair of $1000 Polk towers and the Bic's blew them away, running off the same amp. I have them running off a Sony 7.2 110 watts per channel. YOU WILL NOT FIND BETTER TOWER SPEAKERS FOR THE PRICE. Plus a 7 year warranty, come on how can you give these a bad review? The lows, mid's and highs are perfect.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from They're okGot them today to replace my old front tower speakers and put my old ones to the rear.. im no professional, but enjoy my music loud.I ended up putting my old towers to front and these new ones to rear, set as rear speakers from my amp. They can handle the volume from my amp, but the mid and high range takes over the low range. Not to my liking. Everyone is different though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just A Great SpeakerI bought these BIC Venturi's because I had over several months sold my other speakers, and I was on Parts Express website. And saw these BIC'S and I thought for that price instead of building my own I would try them, once I hookrd them up I put on my old Men At Work LP. On my Technics turntable that I hardly use and just could not believe the sound it was "Crisp-Clean And The Perfect Amount Of Mids And Bass" Without adjusting any frequency levels, and these dam speaker are cheap. To cheap for the sound you get, I would recommend these to anyone......One Fine Sound !!!!!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice big speakerLet me say i also bought these speakers without auditioning them. I have had many small bic speakers before always did the job for the money,i also have the bic dv2 great lil speakers i use them for rear channels in this set up. OK they sound darn good but you need a big room for them. i moved them from my living room to my big patio they require a lil more power it seems than my pioneers it is hard to compare them different sound close in price new pioneers are smaller, but good sound also my experience with bic speakers have always been good. I bought the center channel to match, the one i had was the horn model also bang for buckcant go wrong for the price big sound

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very versatile, best value out there!I got these as the front mains for a theater / music system with a Denon 90w at 8ohm receiver. Running with no EQ at all the sound is very clear and balanced with the usual spike in the upper mid as you would expect and can the tweeter can get a bit harsh but that is really a good thing. (I am assuming the Xover is about 3k) But with a little EQ or Audessy and proper set up they really come alive for music and movies. Crisp and clear, nice and punchy classic rock. The low end is very clean and controlled similar to a sealed design. Don't expect big booming bass such as with very large speakers, but adding a sub is certainly not required. - Keep in mind the price, put all the savings into a good receiver and you will never regret it!!

BIC Venturi DV84 8" 2-Way Tower Speaker Black

This might be a silly question but do they come with rya plug-ins?   Thanks    Darryl Craft

Asked by: Sydster
These have 5 way binding posts for speaker connections, not RCA.

I'm looking to update our 5.1 home theatre setup with a new Dayton Sub-1200. Which is a better match for the sub? A pair of BIC Venturi DV-64's or Pioneer SB-FS52's for the mains?

Asked by: MusicMasters
Either speaker will work fine with the sub, there isn't one better choice in this case. The BIC's will likely get louder, but the Pioneers will probably sound marginally better.

What is the minimum power required to run these speakers efficiently? I have a Marantz 2238B receiver (late 70's vintage) that is rated at 38 watts RMS @8 ohms. Would these speakers run well with this receiver?

Asked by: riverrat373
These speakers are quite sensitive so 38 watts will go pretty far. Whether it is enough for a given application I can't say, but for low to moderate volume levels it will be fine.

What kind of crossover do they use? Has anyone opened up one of these? I have a 90w/ channel Dennon high current amp and would be running this along with a larger pair of speakers, I wonder if the BIC can keep up.

Asked by: johnPr
BIC does not specify what types of crossovers are used in their speakers. You may have to contact them directly for more help with this question.
