BIC Venturi DV62si 6-1/2" 2-Way Bookshelf Speaker Pair
Hello, These sound very good but i had to look inside. One small piece of damping. Sad !! I think they have potential. Recommended cabinet damping without bad side affects. ? Egg crate foam , poly fill . Sound deadening pads ? Xover mods ?Thanks Bob
Tweaking the damping in the enclosure will be entirely up to you. Generally I recommend lining the walls with egg crate or Sonic Barrier foam in vented enclosures, but a couple hand fulls of polyfil will work well too. Generally too much fill will result in leaner bass response, but there is no right or wrong amount to use as long as you like how it sounds.

10-175 recommended ?
does that mean i can pump 150 watts into them all the time constantly. cause some companies say 10-175 recommended meaning that 175 is max power? these are gonna be presence speakers in an 11.2 ch system but i just wanted to know?
10-175 is the recommended about of amplifier power for headroom. These would not be able to handle 150 watts continuous but they could handle short transients. Usually the surrounds and mains in a surround sound system have a limited amount of low frequency being fed to them which allows them to handle more power.

Would the Dayton Audio DTA-100a push these?
Just looking for a small setup in the living room. Don't want anything big. Just good decent sound.
Yes that amplifier would drive these just fine.

Good for a home theater system?
I want to use these speakers as mains in a home theater system. I would use the Yamaha RX-V373 and then some random 3ohm bookshelf speakers that I have. I am also going to buy the BIC F-12 subwoffer. They will mainly be used for TV and some music. So are these speakers a good match? Or should I look into more expensive speakers? I looked at the tower speakers that Parts Express carries and they are all way too expensive. My budget for speakers (not including a sub) is $175 maximum. Also, would these speakers and my 3ohm speakers overload the reciver? I would keep the volume pretty low and rarely crank it but I would be runing the system for up to 6 hours at a time. I put a picture of the 3ohm speakers below if it helps.
These will work very well in a home theater environment, price does not make a speaker better or worse.
