BIC Venturi DV62CLR-S 2-Way MTM Center Channel Speaker
BIC Venturi DV62CLR-S 2-Way MTM Center Channel Speaker is rated 4.9231 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Once again, BIC comes through.I recently bought one of BIC's F-12 subs, then the DV84 towers, and now this center DV62CLR-S. When I first took it out of the box, I was shocked at its size, and had to re-do the center shelf under the screen. I knew it needed to be a big one in our new theater room, and the others I've tried weren't cutting it. As I set this beast up, and then ran Yamaha's YPAO for a baseline, it kept setting the speaker to "large". Sure, it has a super wide range. Full range, I'd think, or close to it. So I called them to make sure that was cool, because dang it if it didn't sound incredible. They gave the ok, so I'm sending full range to it, the fronts and the sub...and even the older Klipsch surrounds that go down to 50Hz. The 7.1 system is now THUNDERING from everywhere. Amazing sound...and clear! No longer are we struggling to boost volume in the center...and the DV62 blends seamlessly with the DV84. Parts Express and BIC...the way to go for sure. A+, folks, solid A+. Thank you all!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best sounding center channel I've owned so farThis is the third center channel I have had on the system. And by far the best.Great for dolby surround and when I wanna rock the house in 5 channel stereo- OMG! What a compliment to an already awesome set up. And at around a hundred bucks! If I could give it 6 stars I would.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love / Hate relationship?I have been researching these for quite some time.... all the x-over mods etc. I wanted a MTM design due to a very "live" room, so it was between this and the AJ Pioneer center. After listening to the Pioneers at a local retailer, I bought these without even hearing them. Once they were hooked up and broken in a little, it became apparent that these were very good sounding speakers. There was a good bit of midrange coming from the ports that is especially problematic when set in a large bay window like mine or near a reflective wall. If you carefully tapped on a woofer there was an "empty paint bucket" tone that was clearly coming through the ports. This sound was also apparent through the woofer cones. I decided to open them up and add damping material. Once opened , the lack of attention to detail was stunning. There was a loose x-over, a "sprig" of poly fill, skinny little wiring, and some glue that hit it's target (along with some that missed).Okay, I covered about 3/4 of the interior with 260-525 sonic barrier foam with psa, and placed a piece 260-516 "egg carton" foam between the woofers and ports and plugged it all back in.......Holy smokes! This just went from a really good sounding speaker to a stunning speaker. No vocal congestion or boom, which was already pretty good. I have not done any bracing, or x-over component upgrades as of yet. The forwardness is easily tamed with some cut in the 5-7k range, but is very listenable without any changes, it looks as though a couple of the "internet" mods kill the tweeter output. The one mentioned above would not.......I do not know how to feel about these. They are not pretty.....or ugly. They are not structural wonders, and yet not gonna fall apart. The color is just disturbing... it will match nothing in your house..... yet it's not a decorating disaster. The sound is where it is..... superb! I find myself binge listening to stuff I haven't heard in years. I hate loving these speakers....but I do love them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product for the moneyI am very happy with this speaker. Much better quality than my old sony micro speaker for a center channel. I could not believe the clarity of the sounds that came from it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brand new center...After about 30 hrs of use and about a half dozen Advanced MCACC via my Elite receiver, things are coming around. I did change the crossover to the Dayton 3k 2-way right out of the box. The standard crossover is so small and in no comparison to the Dayton. I also added a 4"x6" 3/4" vertical brace right in the middle directly behind the tweeter about midway. I also added some deadning material to any wall exposed and added dacron on top of that all around with every inch covered. The ports are way cool and this center is a beast! The low end is crazy good and so big sounding. I am so happy with this product. The tweeter needed refinement but after breakin and constant running of my room correction to aid in breakin all is great. This is a beastly unit and with some upgrades it compares to designs costing 3 or 4 times the amount. It sounds so big, crazy awesome, and definetely different. 3 of these as a L,C,R would be sweet. I will continue breaking it in, so far very, very happy.

BIC Venturi DV62CLR-S 2-Way MTM Center Channel Speaker

Would these work well as main speakers on a bookshelf or would the DV62si be a better choice? In other words, L, C & R all of this type or; this as center and DV62si's on L & R?? I do have a sub-woofer.

Asked by: snickerdoodle
This speaker is an LCR which means it was designed to work in all three front positions well. IT is fine in a left right application.

This can indeed be run full range. i am not sure of the crossover point though. BIC doesn't publish that as far as I can find.

could you set a lcd tv on top of this?

i was wondering if this center speaker would be okay with the weight of a 39inch lcd sitting on top of it? im guessing the tv weighs no more than 15 pounds or so.
Asked by: jeremy937
Yes this will handle a TV sitting on top without issue.
