BIC Formula FH6-LCR 6-1/2" 2-Way MTM Center Channel Speaker
BIC Formula FH6-LCR 6-1/2" 2-Way MTM Center Channel Speaker is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Center Channel SpeakerDelivery arrived on time. Solid construction of the speaker cabinet and connection plate. Excellent overall sound quality with impressive voice clarity (using as a center channel speaker). May consider two additional units for use as surround channel speakers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Center-Channel Speaker - w/one small modI needed to upgrade/replace the center channel speaker in my 5.1 mixing area, but didn't want to break the bank. (When my ship comes in, I'm going with all Lipinski's for a killer 5.1 system#. In the meantime, I was way overdue to do something to improve the center channel I currently have. I took JDR73's advice and purchased the 8 ohm high pass crossover @5Khz. I'm handy with soldering and mods, so this was a no-brainer. Happy to say, I am THRILLED with the sound of this speaker; it's clean, clear, and even silky on the top ends.Taking the box itself apart was a nice discovery; the speaker leads #Which seemed ok; like 14 or 16 gauge? Maybe they've upgraded this?) are covered with a foam padding, good for minimizing vibrations and such. I glued the 5k crossover to the bottom of the box, and soldered it inline before the tweeter. Couldn't have been easier! #You may want to cover the tweeter opening with a bit of foam or cloth when you're working on the box on the bench; it's easy to get dust/dirt inside the opening if you have any dust or dirt floating around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Center Channel SpeakerFor the price & free, fast shipping, this is one of the best center channel speakers you can get. The dialogue is clean & clear, from movies to hard rock, you can't beat it. Will use Parts Express again. I got the speaker the middle of March & it sounds better after the break in period.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BIC Formula FH6-LCR 6-1/2" 2-Way MTM Center Channel SpeakerThe BIC FH6-LCR center speaker is about as much a quality full range center speaker as I have heard. I also have a couple others from an A/V home theater system from Samsung, which is tinny and lacking and a Pioneer Andrew Jones designed SP-C22, which is a fine center channel speaker in its own right. I feel I like the BIC the best as it perform across the full listening range as well as can be expected for the price of this Center Speaker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BIC Center Channel SpeakerThe quality vs price for this speaker is AWESOME! Just be sure you measure the opening in your cabinet as this is a good size. Had to remove a trim piece and replace after speaker was in.LOVE THIS SPEAKER!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ValueI think this is the right price point for this speaker. When you consider that it's only a center channel (which is very important but only one of the 7 speakers you need to purchase) it doesn't over-charge you for excellent performance. I have it as the start of an all Bic Audio setup and is currently sandwiched between 2 Klipsch RB-51 I bought used. Together, all of them work well once tuned by my Denon AVR-790, with Audessey. It's clean and dialogue comes through better than most other c.channels that I've heard. Admittedly, I don't hang around audiophiles much but I can say that this speaker is all I wanted it to be. For $120, take the chance on buying this. You'll be very happy and can put the rest of your money toward an expensive sub. Also, without the grill on, it looks SLICK!

BIC Formula FH6-LCR 6-1/2" 2-Way MTM Center Channel Speaker

To use 2 of these as front channel speakers (along with center), will it have to be mounted on stands?

Asked by: he_16
Ideally you want the tweeters at about eye level which means these will need to be on stands for the best results. This is not required, just recommended.

How is it compared to BIC Venturi DV62CLR-S ? Are they for different applications or ...?

Asked by: Enrique
These are two different models from the same company that are for the same application. The Formula model will likely get louder but that is about all I can help with in terms of differences.

Separate Grill for use as Mains?

I'm contemplating ordering 3 of these. Does it come with an extra grill, as pictured, for use as a main? or is the badge removable?
Asked by: TSIMonster
Unfortuantely it does not come with an extra grill or have a removable badge.

5 K crossover recommendation

After reading the reviews, I think I will also use the highpass 5k crossover on the tweeter. I will also be purchasing the FH6 6 1/2 in wall front speakers. Do you recommend putting the same crossover on the two fronts?
Asked by: sem613
The in wall speakers should not require this due to the natural lack of baffle step.

klipsch vs bic review

the question was a comparision two the 2 speakers side by side klipsch to bic! Has anyone did this! It looks like they have the same trax horn that klipsch has. Thanks J.R.
Asked by: J.R.
I haven't compared the 2 speakers right side by side but I installed Klipsch systems for about 2 years and was very surprised to find that the BIC speakers were right in the same range as the Klipsch. I'd say the BIC Formula speakers would fall just under the R series of the Klipsch brand. BIC doesn't used the same TRAX horn system as the klipsch horns but close to the same. I just did a small 5.1 system with all BIC Formula on a Pioneer Elite and found it to sound excellent in a medium sized room (19' x 14' sun-room). For the price I would say you really can't go wrong otherwise if your looking into floor standing speakers one might look into Definitive Technologies, some companies were selling some of the 2011 products for pretty reasonable right now.

will these sound good with klipsch

need rear channels & center
Asked by: J.R.
It is impossible for anyone but you to make such a judgement call on what sounds good to you. The only way to know what is good to you is by trying it. I suggest you try the BICs. IMO, I think they might work out fine.
