Behringer XM8500 Handheld Dynamic Cardioid Vocal Microphone
Sound and reliability have made the ULTRAVOICE not only a favorite among entry-level vocalists, but also the choice of several professionals. Its cardioid polar pattern effectively rejects sound from the back and sides, making it exceptionally feedback-safe. A two-stage pop filter, tough steel mesh windscreen, and noise-reducing shock-mount system round out its features.

Behringer XM8500 Handheld Dynamic Cardioid Vocal Microphone

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome MicrophonesI'm having a hard time getting the singers on our church choir to get in and stay close to the microphones. Needless to say we have a feedback issue to deal with because of this. I decided to try out this microphone on our lowest output voice to see what it could do for us. WOW! This mic picked up every bit of her singing and even her personal conversation with her friend next to her. I didn't need to increase the sound board level of the microphone, I had to drop it. This microphone not only picked up lower levels of sound it was also a "Brighter" sound; it makes our current mics sound muddy by comparison. I just ordered 8 more of these mics and I highly recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Secret to Track TomsI had these aside just for vocals on rehearsals and last week I tested them to track toms and for my surprise they are amazing! Way better than other percussion dedicated microphones, my secret, shhh

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprisingly good performance for the priceSaw these widely cited as being cheap stand-ins for SM58s. I doubt they have the same durability, but I was pleasantly surprised with how clear they were. They're definitely brighter than the 58. I haven't had a chance yet to test them for a wide variety of situations, but they were great for the one show I did (talking, no singing).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do youreself a favor--Get 5 of these or 1 SM58I'm not kidding (and I'm not from Behringer either). Real high end mics have only slight differences in sound. HH Vocal or general use mics usually need some fine EQ anyway. I have owned over 50 of these in my rental stock. They sound real good---quiet handeling noise---drop em' and they don't break. I use them on choirs/rock bands/ podiums. Anywhere I would put a $140 mic, I would use one of these. AND you won't cry if one doesn't make it back into the inventory the next day. $20????? Keep a secret!!!

Behringer XM8500 Handheld Dynamic Cardioid Vocal Microphone

Does this mike have an on/off switch, and can I use XLR cable?

Asked by: Gino
From what I see, there is no On/Off Switch, and like most good mics it does connect via a standard XLR cable.
