Behringer XENYX 302USB Premium 5-Input Mixer with XENYX Mic Preamp

Need a handy little mixer you can grab with your laptop on the way out the door? Or maybe you don’t want to give up valuable desktop real estate to a large mixer? At approximately 4" long and 5" wide (117 x 135 mm), the XENYX 302USB respects your desk space, while providing an XLR & 1/4" combination socket, stereo USB/Line channel plus a dedicated 2-Track input.

Don’t let the XENYX 302USB’s diminutive size fool you—this little gem is loaded with features typically reserved for larger, more expensive mixers. For instance, we equipped the Mic input with our XENYX mic preamp, which is legendary for its sonic clarity and high-headroom performance. We also gave the Mic and Line/USB channels our 2-band British-style EQs (Low and High), and provide a 2-Track input that can be assigned to either the Main Mix or Phones.

You can even power the XENYX 302USB from your computer’s USB port, which is great for capturing the sounds of migratory birds in flight, or for posting your podcast straight to the Web. Sports announcers, radio and TV reporters will definitely want one of these in their field bag. Incredible sonic performance, versatility and extreme value in a small package—that’s the XENYX 302USB!

Behringer XENYX 302USB Premium 5-Input Mixer with XENYX Mic Preamp
Behringer XENYX 302USB Premium 5-Input Mixer with XENYX Mic Preamp is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good overall for the price but..I've had this little mixer for almost a year, and it has done it's job okay. For critical listening and sensitive applications, though, this is not the mixer for you.Pros:-Small and lightweight-Looks nice-Neutrik TRS+XLR mic combo port is a nice feature and a good connector-RCA inputs and outputs are nice for people using consumer products that use RCA-USB audio works well and is easy to set up.-High amount of gain for a small mixerCons:-Noisy: The unit adds noise to the signal. More noise as you increase the unit's volume. It is not noticeable if your input has a high level (for example 1V, e.g CD player, iPod, preamp, TV-out, etc). It is noticeable if your input is of low level and/or you have it's volume down. Also it is very noticeable when you are listening to material loudly and then it stops (e.g at the muted pause between tracks). Especially true on sensitive equipment.- Balance is offset to the right channel. When the left and right inputs are playing the same material at exactly the same volume, the right channel on the mixer shows a higher level. This is proven by the indicator lights on the unit itself, the metering lights on my powered speakers, and by current testing. The sound is not entirely noticeable if you aren't a critical listener.. but a more perceptive listener can tell that the right side is louder. This is unacceptable for critical listeners.- Poor circuit design causes the unit to send a huge (loud) overdriven signal through the output when disconnected. And combined with the fact that is has no OFF switch, this means you must turn off the amplifier(s) to prevent possible amp/speaker failure (especially true in high power equipment that lacks ample protection circuitry) BEFORE you disconnect the little mixer. Although this is always the recommended procedure, not all mixers/preamps pass this much dirty signal through at shutdown.-For clarity I'll list it as a separate point: No On/Off switch.-2-Track has no individual attenuation/gain. It is straight through and only controlled by the "main mix" knob.-Would be nice to not have to choose between Line and USB. USB and Line should be separate.. but then again this is a small amp.Other than the above the little mixer does its job at mixing. Good value for what you get. But if you need clearer/cleaner mixing, perfect balancing, and more features.. just get a bigger, better mixer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great little mixerI did an upgrade on my piano case and thought I'd try this guy for my control center / preamp. Glad I did because it works well for that and allows me to hook up a cd for rehearsal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost what I was looking for, but just what I need. All I needed was a low-budget microphone preamp/mixer and this fills the bill. Somehow I thought the USB connection was I/O and that I could feed audio from my MacBook Pro (iTunes) into the unit for outputting through the bus. Not so. There is also no software (available from the Behringer website) that is compatible with the OS (10.7.5).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm not one to often use the word "adorable"......but this is just the cutest darn little mixer I've ever seen! The USB power and interface work perfectly with my MacBook Pro!I couldn't be happier!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Mixer and moreI bought the 302USB mixer to power a Dayton Reference microphone. Then I realized that it is also a USB DAC. It isn't the best DAC in the world but it performs better that any FM tuner that I know of. With adjustable gain controls it is a very nice addition to my McIntosh audio system as I am adding Internet radio as a source. Even Ubuntu Linux likes it.

Phono level input would work?

Could I use phono level inputs that are not preamped? In other words, could this mixer's EQ/gain compensate so I can omit preamp'ing the phono line input?
Asked by: ryan9178
Yes. The board has over 40+db gain.
