Behringer NU6000 iNUKE 6000W Lightweight Power Amplifier

Behringer has spent years fine-tuning the high-density Class-D technology that gives the iNUKE Series its oomph. By carefully selecting transistors with extremely high slew rates and optimizing other proprietary parts of our circuitry, these amps react instantly to even the most demanding electronic bass impulses. The revolutionary high-density Class-D technology combined with ultra-efficient switch-mode power supplies ensures these feather-light powerhouses will drive your rig effortlessly for many years to come.

When this amazing amplifier technology is combined with our state-of-the-art switching-mode power supplies, these amplifiers provide tremendous punch. And because they are so much more efficient than conventional designs, they run cooler and don’t require the massive heat sinks and heavy toroid transformers typically associated with their conventional counterparts.

The front panel controls and indicators provide your system’s vital signs at a glance. After pressing the Power button, the Power LED lights to show the amp is ready for action. All channels feature positive-detent Gain controls with Signal LEDs that light when a signal is present, as well as clip LEDs to indicate when the signal is distorted and you need to reduce the input signal.

The rear panel is just as elegant, with combo XLR and 1/4" TRS input connectors making the iNUKE compatible with virtually any source, balanced or unbalanced. Professional twist-lock speaker sockets are provided to ensure every drop of output power gets to your loudspeakers. The rear panel is also where you'll find the switches that enable iNUKE amps to work in either dual mono, stereo or mono bridge mode. A built-in crossover switch enables the amp to operate in biamp mode, sending low frequency content to passive subwoofers, while the high frequency output is channeled to full range loudspeakers.

Sporting massive output ratings, lightweight Class-D technology, an equally lightweight price tag, and all the amenities a professional audio engineer could ask for, Behringer iNUKE amplifiers are serious amps for the most demanding applications.

Behringer NU6000 iNUKE 6000W Lightweight Power Amplifier is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT AMP CHEAP!!I bought it a year ago used it at least 3 hours a day works like a charm. Sound is amazing, lots of power and crazy efficient. Fan is pretty loud could be fixed by putting in bigger ones, but you get used to it and forget they are there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sub Amp Value!I am using this NU6000 to push two of the Dayton Audio PA385S-8 15" subs, each one in a ported cabinet about 3 cu. ft. tuned to ~ 36 Hz. Phenomenal! These iNukes have really proven themselves since their introduction about 3 years ago, read the reviews at any of the major online suppliers. Two things you should know, they are not attractive (to put it nicely), and they have loud fans. The way the front curves outward from the rack mount tabs I had to modify my homemade rack by recessing the rails about 1" from previous mounting position where a QSC GX5 was mounted. Make sure you can make provisions if needed for the extra 1" of front end extension compared to typical equipment.I did a fan mod since I could hear them from the other room in my house, but in a typical live setting it's not an issue. Be aware this will void the warranty once the cover is removed.I can't speak for sound quality use for mains, but for subs there is not a better price/performance ratio available. This line of Behringer amps has a rock solid reputation, and well deserved. Where else can you get two channels of 1200 watts RMS @ 8 ohms for this price? This baby drove my Dayton subs effortlessly at a local private club for two nights, extremely pleased. The exhaust air coming out the front never got warm, even after doing the fan mod (if you replace the fans with lower CFM models, make sure you consider your application). I never saw either of the peak lights come on, and they were LOUD. Those pro Dayton subs are superb as well, highly recommended, just wish I had the room (and strength) to get the 18".I would HIGHLY recommend this amp to anyone looking to power subs, just be aware of the loud fans if used in a home environment.

How do I set the switches on the back to be able to use the internal crossover to run subwoofers on both channeis A & B?

Asked by: Doug418
Unfortunately, that can't be done with the NU6000. When active the lows only come out of channel B. The Mode switch is 2-way with only "Stereo" and "Mono" as selections (no Bridge mode, contrary to some manual photos). You would need to run your sub(s) only from channel B, being careful to stay at 4 ohms minimum.

Do I need to use a Y adapter for the Ch A&B to have it run bridged? There's only a mode switch for stereo and mono. I'd like to know if I can just run it off one output, in mono, and get the full power?

Asked by: Charles76
It doesn't bridge mono

amplifier rating at 2 ohms?

I will be using this to drive 2 Danley DTS-10's one on each channel for my home theater system. I will be driving it with a miniDSP and therefore have the required 2V pre-out signal levels.Comparing this to the EPX4000 which includes a power spec at 2 ohm, can this amplifier be used safely at lower impedances or would the EPX4000 be a better choice? Thanks!
Asked by: Westcoaster
This amp is designed to deliver full power into a 4ohm load. Below that, there some safety features that kick in. You may have less power into a 2ohm load, but you may also have a catastrophic failure. If you need a 2ohm amp, be sure it's clearly described as such.

home theater subwoofer amp

Looking for a nice high watts home theater subwoofer amp for my pioneer elite reviver. I see this one has NO RCA inputs, would I need a cable to convert RCA to 1/4? Or would it be better to just get the EPX4000 which has the RCA inputs. What amp would be the most bang for the buck?
Asked by: Mlt2
All you need for an RCA jack is a 1/4" X RCA converter listed below. Either amp has the capacity to knock your voice coils out of the gap. When a loudspeaker moves air, there is some inertia effect. Dampening factor and slew rate of the amp controls this to a point. Overshoot is when the voice coil goes past the magnetic field and literally jumps out. I only mention this because of the large amount of power these 2 amps can generate.
