Behringer NU6000 iNUKE 6000W Lightweight Power Amplifier

Behringer has spent years fine-tuning the high-density Class-D technology that gives the iNUKE Series its oomph. By carefully selecting transistors with extremely high slew rates and optimizing other proprietary parts of our circuitry, these amps react instantly to even the most demanding electronic bass impulses. The revolutionary high-density Class-D technology combined with ultra-efficient switch-mode power supplies ensures these feather-light powerhouses will drive your rig effortlessly for many years to come.

When this amazing amplifier technology is combined with our state-of-the-art switching-mode power supplies, these amplifiers provide tremendous punch. And because they are so much more efficient than conventional designs, they run cooler and don’t require the massive heat sinks and heavy toroid transformers typically associated with their conventional counterparts.

The front panel controls and indicators provide your system’s vital signs at a glance. After pressing the Power button, the Power LED lights to show the amp is ready for action. All channels feature positive-detent Gain controls with Signal LEDs that light when a signal is present, as well as clip LEDs to indicate when the signal is distorted and you need to reduce the input signal.

The rear panel is just as elegant, with combo XLR and 1/4" TRS input connectors making the iNUKE compatible with virtually any source, balanced or unbalanced. Professional twist-lock speaker sockets are provided to ensure every drop of output power gets to your loudspeakers. The rear panel is also where you'll find the switches that enable iNUKE amps to work in either dual mono, stereo or mono bridge mode. A built-in crossover switch enables the amp to operate in biamp mode, sending low frequency content to passive subwoofers, while the high frequency output is channeled to full range loudspeakers.

Sporting massive output ratings, lightweight Class-D technology, an equally lightweight price tag, and all the amenities a professional audio engineer could ask for, Behringer iNUKE amplifiers are serious amps for the most demanding applications.

Is the power output in the description rated at RMS?

Is the power output in the description rated at RMS?
Asked by: jgoff
Anyway you slice it--this is a powerful amplifier. I would point out though, that no amplifier can double it's power output from 8ohms to 4ohms. Stuff gets lost in the translation sometimes. No loudspeaker [that's commonly used] can handle this much power anyway for longer than a few milliseconds. A voice coil moves in air [unless it's injected with unobtanium] and is fan cooled by it--[sort of]. Lots of "ifs ands or buts" I know, but we deal with conflicts in the audio world.

Does this amp work on 220- 240 volts?

Asked by: jgoff
with a bit of soldering you can switch the jumpers under the hood. this will convert it from 115 to 230 and will void your warranty in the process.

home theater subwoofer amp

Looking for a nice high watts home theater subwoofer amp for my pioneer elite reviver. I see this one has NO RCA inputs, would I need a cable to convert RCA to 1/4? Or would it be better to just get the EPX4000 which has the RCA inputs. What amp would be the most bang for the buck?
Asked by: Mlt2
You may run into issues hooking this up to a home theater receiver. The home theater sub output operates at .9v and the Pro Audio amps typically receive 2v inputs. This will require the gain to be increased and even then the overall output will be reduced. If you require full power you will need a converter to take the .9v to 2v such as a ART CLEANBoxPro. Personally I use a miniDSP to do this plus function as a digital EQ and crossover.

Computer interface question

How is this line of amplifiers connected to a computer?
Asked by: Big D
Only the DSP models can be connected to a computer through a USB port on the front of the amplifier.

amplifier rating at 2 ohms?

I will be using this to drive 2 Danley DTS-10's one on each channel for my home theater system. I will be driving it with a miniDSP and therefore have the required 2V pre-out signal levels.Comparing this to the EPX4000 which includes a power spec at 2 ohm, can this amplifier be used safely at lower impedances or would the EPX4000 be a better choice? Thanks!
Asked by: Westcoaster
This amp is designed to deliver full power into a 4ohm load. Below that, there some safety features that kick in. You may have less power into a 2ohm load, but you may also have a catastrophic failure. If you need a 2ohm amp, be sure it's clearly described as such.
