Behringer NU1000 iNUKE 1000 Watt Power Amplifier

Behringer has spent years fine-tuning the high-density Class-D technology that gives the iNUKE Series its oomph. By carefully selecting transistors with extremely high slew rates and optimizing other proprietary parts of our circuitry, these amps react instantly to even the most demanding electronic bass impulses. The revolutionary high-density Class-D technology combined with ultra-efficient switch-mode power supplies ensures these feather-light powerhouses will drive your rig effortlessly for many years to come.

When this amazing amplifier technology is combined with our state-of-the-art switching-mode power supplies, these amplifiers provide tremendous punch. And because they are so much more efficient than conventional designs, they run cooler and don’t require the massive heat sinks and heavy toroid transformers typically associated with their conventional counterparts.

The front panel controls and indicators provide your system’s vital signs at a glance. After pressing the Power button, the Power LED lights to show the amp is ready for action. All channels feature positive-detent Gain controls with Signal LEDs that light when a signal is present, as well as clip LEDs to indicate when the signal is distorted and you need to reduce the input signal.

The rear panel is just as elegant, with combo XLR and 1/4" TRS input connectors making the iNUKE compatible with virtually any source, balanced or unbalanced. Professional twist-lock speaker sockets are provided to ensure every drop of output power gets to your loudspeakers. The rear panel is also where you'll find the switches that enable iNUKE amps to work in either dual mono, stereo or mono bridge mode. A built-in CROSSOVER switch enables the amp to operate in biamp mode, sending low frequency content to passive subwoofers, while the high frequency output is channeled to full range loudspeakers.

Sporting massive output ratings, lightweight Class-D technology, an equally lightweight price tag, and all the amenities a professional audio engineer could ask for, Behringer iNUKE amplifiers are serious amps for the most demanding applications.

Behringer NU1000 iNUKE 1000 Watt Power Amplifier
Behringer NU1000 iNUKE 1000 Watt Power Amplifier is rated 4.6667 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good ValueI bought this to power the PE 15" sub kit (300-7097) for a non-critial listening garage system. I wired each 2 ohm coil of the sub to each channel. Another option is to wire the sub coils in series (4 ohm) and set the Inuke to bridged. I have not tried this yet as the unit is stable into the 2 ohm sub and is able to just about push the sub to it's limit. I am using a 20 hz high pass FMOD as a subsonic filter and a RCA to XLR adaptor from the sub output on an old receiver for bass management. No problems with the input sensitivity. For a combined $450, it is quite a good sub / amp system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from welcome to the world of class D!It's hard to believe that this unit can get the power that it is rated at. This is all thanks to the class-d topology. It allows Behringer to create a light, efficient (90%) and cheap amp' with very good performance. The circuit board reveals the care and quality found in the manufacturer's current production. The low impedance capabilities allow you to use it a wide range of applications. I can see a lot of pro-audio guys giving these a run and being pleasantly surprised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pro Audio CraftmanshipThis amazingly inexpensive and light <(7lb) piece of switching engineering delivers 200RMS into 4 ohms (100 RMS into 8) Watts of really clean, effortless sound. It is as as transparent and colorless as you could get anywhere. You should play classical through it and become enlightened. It is extremely well built, and completely enclosed in an aluminum box with a solid, classy 19" front panel. You can cart it anywhere and set it down anywhere (you don't need a rack for it to run cool). You'll need Speakon connectors (Parts Express #092-058) and it's a good idea to pack XLR male to RCA female-adaptors (#240-438) to connect to civillian stuff.

Use as a subwoofer amplifier

Is the amplifier (248-6700) capable of 2 channel subwoofer output? If so what are the crossover points available? I seek an amp that will drive stereo passive open baffle subs and has an adjustable crossover built in....
Asked by: Danzhifi
Depending on the ohm rating of your subs, this amp has the ability to deliver up to 500 WPC. Behringer is a good audio company, I have owned some of their live sound products in the past and had great results. When considering the crossover point you should set some determination of the sound you are wanting. For example I prefer tight controlled bass, the kind often associated with drum frequencies especially the kick drum, which is arguably most noticeable around 60hz, so I would probably cross at around 60hz, but this is purely based off your own preferences.

do these amps come with multi power switching ie 110vac/60Hz and 240vac/50Hz for international use

Asked by: speedie
I do not see a switch in their manuals but there are versions of this amplifier that are 240v/50hz-60hz. You may have to purchase from a European supplier to find one or contact Parts-express directly and ask if they have them in stock. Just in case i missed something here is the manual to multiple of the Bheringer systems.http://www.behringer.com/assets/NU1000_NU3000_NU6000_NU1000DSP_NU3000DSP_NU6000DSP_WebBrochure.pdfThe NU1000 is at the bottom.

Power Rating

Are these power rating in RMS ratings or simply the max ratings? It isn't stated anywhere but I need 1000w RMS @ 4 ohm and this would be perfect is these are RMS ratings.
Asked by: jparmeley91
Good question. In the "old" days, the reference was so many watts / channel, both channels driven, 20 - 20khz at .whatever distortion. That way you could fairly compare performance. This is still pretty much true with traditional topologies like Class A or Class AB. The new "D" amps like to brag a bit about their numbers. It propagated from the car stereo world. What you can know is this - Class D amps are very good for bass for two reasons: They deliver a lot of watts per dollar and are very stable at low impedance. If you look at bass impedance - it goes much lower than the woofer claims - especially at the F3 point. You could assume by the efficiency curve that this is close to a 200 watt/ch at 8 ohms - being conservative 150/ch.

Anyone know how loud the fan is? Does it run all the time?

Asked by: HenryFaley
My understanding is that the cooling fan is controlled by the automatic switching power mode so it is likely that it is not running when not needed. If it does runn all of the time then it is very quiet. I have never seen an amp fan as loud as ambient noise. When measured at 10' typically less than 75 rb.Keeping a fans blades clean greatly reduces sound because the turbulence causes more noise than the mootor.

Bridge connection on Behringer iNluke 1000

I read the manual, but not sure how to make a bridge connection on this amplifier.First question, do I have to use both inputs?Second question, do I need a 4 pin speakon connector and connect 1+ and 2+, is this right? if so, just one channel? which one, A or B? or both?
Asked by: Newboy
Use line level input #1 only. Use speaker output +1 and +2 pins in the L&R outs [just the hot pins out--you will need to make an adaptor for this--a "Y" cord--2 twist lock +1 & +2 speaker outputs to a single twist lock for your speaker. It's confusing--I know. Be sure your bridged output load is no lower than 4 ohms--otherwise the amps limiter circuit will kick in and/or the amplifier will overheat--or worse. 1,000 watts is pretty powerful. Be sure to use#14 or #12 gz. wire for your speaker run.

Can you tell me if this amp will work with a 1.0V input from my yamaha rreceiver.

Asked by: gravity
This amp has an input sensitivity of 0.75v so this should work fine with a 1.0v output.
