Product Details

Behringer MX400 MICROMIX 4-Ch Line Mixer

Despite its ultra-compact size, this 4-channel line mixer is big on features! It yields the highest sonic quality at all output levels, boasting ultra low-noise 4580 operational amplifiers for outstanding audio performance—the same op amps found in its much bigger brethren. Expanding on the capabilities of standard-size mixers is where the MX400 does extremely well, for example as a sub-mixer.

If you are running short on available channels on your big mixer and need to bring the output of three different keyboards into your mix, you can simply connect them to the MX400, work out the keyboard mix, and connect the MX400's output to a single input on your main mixer. It will catch your eye because it's cute as a button, but you'll want to own one because of what it can do for your performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Multiple Instruments Ready to GoMy 2nd. One at rehearsal, one at home. I use a standard tuned bass, a stepped down bass, a fretless and a 5 string for the music I play. All 4 go thru, no signal effect of loss. Allows me to switch quickly between instruments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Mixer...The tested gain at maximum volume (10) is +40dB with a maximum output of 5.6VRMS (open circuit / no load voltage). All four (4) channels tested identically. The channels have an attenuation of -28dB with the volume at (1). Note, with the volume at (0), the channel is MUTE. Upon initial power on, the output exhibited a DC offset of +1.6VDC. This DC offset diminished a few minutes after being on (I assume that this is due to the mixer’s circuitry warming up).The MX400 has a clear sound even while adjusting the volumes controls (no crackling or static). For functional testing, I connected an iPhone with music to input #1 & #2 [stereo R to #1, stereo L to #2 via adapters] and microphones to input #3 & #4.The only negative is that it does not have an on/off switch or auto on/off via signal sensing. Once the MX400 is plugged in (120VAC to 12VDC adapter included), it is on and stays on. If the device you are running the MX400 output into has a switched 120VAC output, you’ll need to plug the 120VAC to 12VDC adapter into the switched output. This will turn the MX400 on/off when the main device is turned on/off.

I see that output is stereo, but are the inputs stereo or mono or both? If they are mono, are ch1 & ch3 left while ch2 and ch4 are right? Also, the output processes to a stereo 1/4" jack?

Asked by: SungPark
This amplifier has stereo inputs and stereo outputs. You cannot combine two outputs for each channel.
