Behringer HD400 Ultra-Compact 2-Ch Hum Destroyer
Behringer HD400 Ultra-Compact 2-Ch Hum Destroyer is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from This did the job...I play guitar for my church's Praise band. We were having some serious buzz between the the band's monitor system and the main board where we patched in the vocals off of the hearback system into our monitors...this device eliminated ALL the noise...good noticable sound lose...The documentation that Behringer provides leaves something to be desired, but all in all, a good product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great.Works as advertised and amazing well for the dollar amount. I recently purchased a similiar product, ART Cleanbox II, and it didn't eliminate the hum going from my balanced cable to the unbalanced device. Maybe 50% reduction in hum. So I tried the behringer and it totally emliminated the hum. Sound quality remained good. It is a thin cheap metal box but adequate for most applications.

My plan is to use this in a car audio system with unbalanced inputs and outputs and need a frequency response of 20-20KHz. Will this work?

Asked by: Fixer
This will accept unbalanced inputs via 1/4" connectors. Unfortunately Behringer does not specify frequency response, you will have to contact them directly for more information regarding this.

I have a total of 3 amps in my rack for a carvin sound system.Do I need a noise filter for each amp,or is there a way to bypass between the crossover?

Asked by: gforcerox
Hum destroyers are a band-aid. Hum is a symptom of a problem, not the problem itself. Humming can almost always be eliminated by making changes in your signal and/or power cabling arrangement. If you have 3 amps in your system and have hum in all of them, you really need to take a close look at your rig and see what your doing wrong. Study up on ground loop problems and invest in some good signal cables. Ground lifting transformers (which is what these are) should be a last resort.
