Behringer FBQ1502 Ultragraph Pro Dual 15-Band EQ
Behringer FBQ1502 Ultragraph Pro Dual 15-Band EQ is rated 4.4545 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good EQ for the money, sub out is nice, "but"...Using for sound reinforcement for bands. Works great, sounds fine, quiet and clean. Only real gripe I have is the fact that the sub crossover is AFTER the EQ...so you cannot dump off the lows to the mains and let the sub handle them, because cutting the lows on the EQ kills the low end to the sub out. However, its an easy mod (if you know what you're doing and can solder) to re-route the crossover feed to BEFORE the EQ. I did this in 15 minutes, including downloading the schematic online. Here's the gist of it: Remove R32 and R34. Connect a 5.1k resistor from the ribbon header Pin 1 to the lower pad of R32. Do the same from Pin 7 to R34, and now the sub crossover is EQ independent and you can roll off the lows to your mains and put more power into the low mids and midrange. As it should be ;-)Another mod you may wish to perform while inside is to add a switch in the R34 feed so that you can decouple Channel 2 from the sub feed. This way, you can use Channel 1 as a mono mains and Channel 2 for monitors and not affect the sub when adjusting the monitor mix.I will probably buy another one as a backup and for more complex monitor mixes, great product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great priceBought to use at a wedding to ring out my cordless mics. I have yet to test that feature but from playing around with the equalizer it seems like it will suit my needs very well. I was attracted to the low price of $99. In my area store wanted $150+.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bang for the buck!I've now got three of these Behringer eq's and they work great. My first one is now two years old and no issues. The subwoofer output is the key feature for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What I needed.Picked this up to EQ my home stereo; does as intended. Quality product, only reason I picked this over others is I have a friend that has one he uses for his band, and his dad even used one for years DJing. They are not the most careful of people, so I know they can be abused and neglected which reassures me it will last a long time in my house.Wish I could afford a higher end model, but this alone is plenty for anything I would use it for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance for the moneyI've been having this unit for 6 years, recently I upgraded my preamp and decided to up grade my eq also so I ordered the ashley unit, big mistake. mids were clear but bass and music in general sound dull with not near the impact and dynamics of the Behringer eq. my system consist of components from NAD, Crown, Dayton, Pioneer Elite, and B&C with the Behringer being the cheapest component, but without it the music does not have the impact of a live performance. looking for a good eq buy this unit. ps the ashley is a better built unit and could probably take more abuse on the road but it can't out perform the Behringer.

Can I use this EQ for two speaker cabs and a subwoofer........using just one (2 channel, 4 Ohm) pro audio amp?

Asked by: Radal
You will need a second amplifier for the subwoofer in order to use this EQ with a 2.1 setup like that.

Can i have signal going in through the 1/4'' jack and then output to my amp through xlr?

Asked by: Jarett
According to the manual the XLR and 1/4" jacks are paralleled together so you should be able to go in through 1/4" and out through XLR.

would this add voltage to my amp ?

ok im new to all this pro audio stuff. i just bought a crown xls1000 to power 3 HT subs but lacks bass, mostly cause of low voltage from my stereo, 1 volt rms and wiring limitations. i see this has a sub output, and was wondering if this would boost the voltage to the amp, would this be a good thing to use for that ?. and can u fine tune the subs with this ?thanks in advance
Asked by: hiviman
Yes, but not. Anymore than the amp could otherwise deliver. You route your source to the EQ. and the EQ. out to your Crown amp. The sub out is designed to go to the input of another amp that powers your sub.

I am running EV powered mains and sub w built in crossover. Will this unit having a crossover negatively affect my sound or performance?

Asked by: kwadams88
Configured correctly into your system - it should give you the possibility of improving the sound. HOWEVER, people think they can EQ by ear. Not true. An RTA with pink noise is the best way to get a good response curve. Set the EQ to flat - then use the mixer controls to compensate for inconsistencies in your source material. like bright CD's or no bass on MP3's etc... Also - you will have to RTA every location as they are all different. Additionally, many DJs have several curves pre-planned for room size, type of room and size of audience.
