Product Details

Battery Powered Bluetooth Wireless Audio Receiver with Power Supply Black

Cut the cord on your smartphone, iPod, iPhone, iPad, tablet computer, or laptop and enjoy streaming audio wirelessly (up to 32.8 feet) to your stereo receiver using this battery powered Bluetooth receiver. You can even add Bluetooth functionality to car stereos with a 3.5 mm (1/8") auxiliary input. Also works as a fixed-gain wireless headphone amplifier.

The small receiver fits in the palm of your hand—great for users on the go—and complies with Bluetooth 2.0, as well as A2DP v1.2. A 3.7V, 250 mAh lithium polymer (Lipo) battery is built-in and allows you to stream Bluetooth audio for hours, even when there isn't a readily available power source. A mini USB port is built onto the housing for charging the battery over a computer's USB port or the included 5V 500 mA power supply and included 29.5" USB A male to mini USB B male charging cable.

Pairing is quick and simple: turn on your connecting device's Bluetooth function, set your device to discoverable, turn the Bluetooth receiver on (initially indicated by alternating red and blue flashing LEDs), locate the SF-LY001 on your device and select it, finally enter a PIN of 0000.

The alternating red and blue LEDs will change to a flashing blue LED once connected, and you are ready to start streaming audio. Stereo 3.5 mm male-to-male patch cable or stereo 3.5 mm male to stereo RCA adapter cable required for operation (please see Related Items section on the right for recommendations).

Also available in white!

This battery powered Bluetooth receiver is fairly sensitive to audio input. If you experience distortion, it is likely caused by overdriving the wireless audio input from the source device (such as a smartphone). If you experience distortion, turn the volume down on the source device from maximum to half volume level. The maximum volume level will vary by source device.

Specifications:
• Internal battery: 3.7 VDC, 250 mAh lithium polymer
• Output connector: Stereo 3.5 mm (1/8") jack
• Complies with Bluetooth 2.0 standard
• Supports A2DP v1.2
• Maximum distance: 10 meters (32.8 feet) line-of-sight
• Included power supply specifications: 5 VDC, 500 mA
• 29.5" USB A Male to USB B Mini Male cable included

Note:The USB connection on this device is for the charging of the internal battery only. Audio is sent out via the 3.5 mm jack only. The USB cable included is not meant for use as a data cable.

Ground loops can occur (hum or buzzing sound) when used with a grounded (3-prong plug) power source. Please see the Related Items section for the Axxess 3.5 mm ground loop isolator to solve this issue if it occurs.

This device does not support phone call features, it is a receiver only.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked right out the boxBought this to stream music from my phone to an external amp in my garage. Worked right out of the box, pairing was very quick. Some BT devices have issues pairing to my phone (iphone 5) but not this item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Battery Powered Bluetooth Wireless Audio RecieverThis is great. I tried a couple of Wireless speakers, but they just didn't sound as good as my stereo or my computer speakers. Now I have the best of both worlds. Blue tooth, and great sounds:)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Line of sightThis is easy to set up and use, but the only issue I have is that it is apparently line of sight. Bluetooth shouldn't be like that, but for some reason it is. My phone connects easily to it, I can walk away from it with my phone, but as soon as anything comes between the receiver and phone it cuts out the audio. The connection is still there, because I don't have to reconnect, but the sound goes out. Not exactly what I want. I am unsure if this unit is just defective in some way, but this is no good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Receiver For Portable and Home DevicesI bought this for to pair with anything that has a bluetooth transmitter in it. And the sound quality is like DVD quality, not bad for something that you would normally use with your headset to make hands free phone calls. I did not know the audio quality was going to be that great even through a pair of headphones. I thought it was going to be AM quality sound like some other reviewer was saying. It could have been his Bluetooth transmitter that was emitting that AM quality sound. Anyways, this device is a great addition to my portable speaker that takes AAA batteries that did not have a built in bluetooth receiver, that means if you have a portable speaker without a Bluetooth receiver to listen to your programming this device would be for it. Also when I connected to my stereo the quality was excellent just like it was connected directly to a cable. I tried it with a pair of headphones, all it did was deliver only a line out signal not a amplified signal, which this device is only good for stereos, anything with a auxillary input even a boombox. The only thing that bugs me about this is that the battery does not last long and I wish that the USB power would keep it running continuously and it had a battery or direct power switch to it can run for a long time plugged into the USB power suppliy. The range it limited which is good for me, and when I did a portable speaker test, the signal did reach the next bedroom, but did not reach far enough into the bathroom, which this device is a great experimenters item for studying bluetooth technology and see how far it can reach and also couple a reflector or something to make it reach farther. I wish that this bluetooth device would cover other microwave frequencies that are not embedded with the WiFi signals because I had trouble staying connected when I was listening to my WiFi radio, it kept on disconnecting and I had to reconnect, until I downloaded an app that boosted to the power, because the audio was breaking up before the app was installed. Above all, this is a great audio accessory and I want to get the transmitter to go along with it to connect to my mixer instead of just using the FM stereo transmitter for private broadcasting. I will be buying some other bluetooth deivces and also tablets and other fun stuff to go along with this. I love it! Thanks!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from My as good as the BT1A that I purchasedBought this because it has a simple slide on off switch instead of those bluetooth devices with switches that you have to hold down for a few secondsevery time you get in your car. But it has some kind of weird intermitentbass thumping interference, even when turning down my music sourcedevice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Signal level output only. This unit is a bluetooth receiver only. The output, in my opinion, is signal level only and is not suitable for driving headphones. When I connected two different headphones (full size over the ear and ear bud) to the unit, the sound was not very loud (even at full volume from my tablet) and was thin and tinny (no bass). When I connect the unit to my amplified PC speakers (with sub-woofer) the unit sounds great with lots of bass and punch. The bluetooth receiver also sounds great on my main HiFi system although its output is a bit low compared to other signal sources such as my CD player. Think of the output as a line-level output with a 47K ohm impedance, designed as an input to a main amp, not a direct headphone driver. The unit does not have a volume control so that must be done on the bluetooth transmitting end. I am driving the bluetooth with a Samsung Galaxy 10.1 2014 edition tablet. The intended purpose of this unit is to connect my main amp to my tablet so I can have easy access to my entire CD collection. In this mode, the unit works just fine. I get an easy 30 feet or so before the signal starts to chop up. The sound seems very clean with a good signal to noise ratio. The quality is not quite as pristine as a CD (any audio distortion could be the fault of simply being an WMA file) but it is not too far behind and is acceptable for most of my listening needs except for the most critical classical music. The user manual is really poorly written and confusing. For example they say:"Transmits up to 33 feet away". This unit does not transmit (actually, it does need to transmit some protocol information in order to pair with another bluetooth enabled device), it is a receiver! They also say: "Works with the speaker which has 3.5 mm line..." this will NOT drive a speaker. And again: "3.5mm line-in jack allows you to play other external audio sources such as MP3, MP4 etc." This statement really confused me. I thought that by connecting my MP3 player into the jack of the bluetooth unit then it would become a bluetooth transmitter where I could listen in on the music from my MP3 players with another bluetooth enabled device. The jack is for output only., to be connected as an input to an amp. I tried the above experiment, and it did not work.I rated this device a 3 because it has no volume control or because the output is a bit low. I also rate this a 3 because the user manual is confusing. Since this unit does not drive headphones then why have a battery? I plan to keep it plugged in all the time so it now becomes another input to my receiver (Tape 1 actually) This unit serves my intended purpose so I will keep it.

I purchased one of these about a year ago, I charged it before use as specified and the unit lasted that one charge and ceased to function. No lights when charging or in on position. Is there anything I can do to get it working?

Can it be plugged into power and still be used?

I would like to use this to add bluetooth functionality to my amp on my motorcycle. If this is able to be used while plugged into a USB power source this product is up my ally. Thanks!

Can this be paired with more than one source?

For example, can I play music from my iPod Touch when in range, then later can my wife play a podcast from her iPhone, without re-pairing?
Asked by: pschell
Unfortunately no, this can only be used with one source at a time.

Can this be paired with a bluetooth headset so the headset mic comes through the output?

Asked by: stevek
If I understand your ? correctly. No. This only receives the signal it doesn't send a signal. So whatever headset you wanted to use would have to be wired and able to be plugged into the output.
