from Spacious Rich Natural Organic 3D Sound Worth CostI put Audyn True Copper 1.8 uf Caps in place of some 6 uf PPT Theta Capaictors in my Kora Hermes DAC for the final tube output processing stage (the original were 2uf Solen Caps), and the difference in sound is truly impressive.Steve Sank of Talking Dog Transducer Co of Tucson (40 years experience), set up my DAC so I can easily replace and screw in new caps for an easy A-B. The Theta themselves are wonderful caps and were given accolades in the Great Capacitor Review, yet the Audyn True Copper caps imbued the music with even more 3D imaging and have an even more rich organic natural quality to the sound. Bass, midrange, and treble are all there in spades. Surprisingly, while warm and with a strong yet balanced and spatial bass presence which rolls up into the rich midrange, the Audyn also have an open, present, yet delicate highs which did not sound dull or harsh. The Audyn seem to strike a near perfect balance between midrange warmth and open treble presence. On the downside, the Audyn are huge and expensive. The PPT Theta in comparison (in all fairness, my system is somewhat already forward sounding) have a slight bit more clearness and bite and presence in the treble with a little more sizzle and pop. The Theta however, in comparison to the Audyn in my system also seem to have a slight upper midrange presence that is more forward than I prefer compared to the smoother Audyn. The Audyn True copper caps are not dull. They are rich full and vibrant across the sound spectrum, yet have a slightly relaxed (yet still open) and natural presence compared to my prior favorite PPT Theta Caps. For those hoping to warm their system, the Audyn may prove to be superior, and for those hoping to add a little more extension and detail, the more affordable and compact PPT Theta may prove better.Overall, for my system, the Audyn True copper caps are keepers and worked well with the PPT Theta in other parts of my gear. Although not realistic for their size in may places, if you have the money and the space in your equipment for these mini beer cans, and like an organic rich spacious 3D sound with wonderful natural bass and highs and a rich midrange presence, you will be hard pressed to find a better capacitor. Money well spent here. They elevated the sound of my equipment in a remarkable way. For your final tube output at least, find a way to make them fit!
