Acoustic Sound Deadening Foam 2-1/2" x 24" x 18" UL 94 is rated 4.2857 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Resonance Gone!My speaker boxes had a boomy peak at around 125Hz. I stuffed them with this foam and the resonance is gone. Mid bass is also cleaner now. I should have done it sooner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Sound Deadening PropertiesI used three sheets of this stuff to reduce the sound of air turbulence coming from my air circulator intake box. The size dimensions were perfect, as they pressed into the space between the 2x4 supports and the floor. Test was inconclusive: we used a smartphone with a noise measuring app. App indicated a drop of about 2-db at the intake grille. But, I notice a definite drop in noise when sitting in my living room. Price was reasonable too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works, but not 2.5" like everyone mentioned.Bought this for a pair of bookshelf speakers. I was getting weird resonances and weak bass during initial building. Once I glued a piece to the back plate and top and bottom walls, the resonances were gone 100%.I then covered ALL the inside walls, glued, and screwed it together. It sounds much better, so yes it does work.Like others said, the size is more like 1.5" at the tallest point. Not huge for me, since these are bookshelves, but be careful if you use it for a sub or larger speaker.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stinks!Foam stinks so bad - bought 2 pieces of this junk and wouldn't install it in my speaker because it smells so bad. Had to put it outside in my shed. I hesitated to buy it in the first place as it's very overpriced. Save yourself the headache from the smell and get something else

similar to other foams. I just opened up a box that was 6 years old and the foam still looked exactly like the day I put it in.

Does this have any sort of NRC rating?

It would be effective to know what the properties of this foam are.Either a general NRC, or most preferred, an NRC rating per frequency, similar to what the pyramid foam has in its spec sheet.
