Abletec Switch Mode Power Supply +53V at 1.4A, -53V at 1.4A, +7.5V at 1.6A, +5.6V 1A

Designed for absolute, no-compromise performance, this power supply from industry-leaders Abletec has very low ripple and, under grueling EIA/CEA-490-A and FTC testing, is capable of delivering a 445 watt continuous output. Instantaneous output of 900 watts is possible. Input is a truly universal 90-264 VAC, 45-63 Hz, making this Abletec power supply useable worldwide.

When this supply was engineered, safety and compliance were put first, earning FCC, UL, CSA, and CE certification. Short circuit protection is provided through a primary limiter on the auxiliary outputs and fuses on the high voltage outputs. In an over-temperature event, the power supply will shut down and recover automatically when normal operating temperature resumes. Cooling is accomplished by an attached heatsink, but an external heatsink may be used in high-demand applications. An external high temperature indicator may be used with this power supply, as well. Dimensions: 3.38" W x 8.88" L x 1.38" H.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome!used for 7ch IRS2092 based amp, works great, very little heat, voltage is stable. aux power enough to move computer stule cooling fan to ventilate chassis.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great power supplies - no brainer for design inI've purchased these directly from Abletec in the past as well as a couple of the other supplies they make. For audio amps, with the correct filtering, make these a design in win.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well if you load the outputsI wrote an original 1* review because the supply was spitting and wouldn't work past 30W. It turns out you must load the voltage outputs at least a little. If you're not using the aux outputs, recommended is a 5W 150ohm resistor across pins 4,1 and 4,2 of the auxiliary power connector Con203.

Is this one dual or single? i`m assuming it`s dual but want to be sure.

Asked by: Victorinox
it is a dual supply, one +53v output and one -53v supply (also two low power voltages too).  One can power two irs2092s type amps, though one supply per amp would probably work better, and this chea, why not?

Could I use this to power two class d amps that require 36v and produce 200w @4ohms

Asked by: Green0273
voltage is too high.  better to use with bigger amps

Does this power supply come with a pigtail wire with connector for the in/out headers? If not, what is the mating connector for both?

Asked by: Larzman
Did not come with any pigtails. Not sure if you can buy the correct ones anywhere.

What is the actual height of the power supply? Will it fit in a 1U case? Data sheet states 50mm high, whereas the PE description states 1.38" which is 35mm

Asked by: Shoog
Just measured mine, 50mm exactly.

Function of the Pre-attached Connector?

There is a connector shown in the picture (and present on the model I received) which is a 2-pin female wire set. I cannot find a description for this connector in the datasheet, and it appears to come out of the main transformer. What is the purpose of this connector?
Asked by: HammerFM
The answer is on the bottom of page 2 of the specifications; it is a high-temperature warning output connector. is probably a temperature-activated switch - I have not tested the ones I bought yet.I hope it helps.
